I'm planning on making my first trip to Cedar Point in early June, doing the park on 6/5 and 6/6, a Monday and Tuesday. Could someone tell me when area schools get out for the summer? Am I going at a time where I might actually be able to get on all the big rides in a day? Also, is there someplace in the park to eat that serves food NOT floating in grease? Oh, and one more thing... because airfare without a Saturday night stay is obscene, and crowds at the park on weekends are sure to be obscene, I'm going to have all day Sunday to do a little exploring. Is there anything else around the area that would be worth seeing or doing? Thanks very much for any info! Can't wait to get there!
Most schools are out somewhere around June 1.

On Cleveland's westside the schools get out the 6th, with exams those days, so I think your in pretty good shape from that stand point, cause you can't really skip exams to go to Cedar Point, although it seems like a good excuse to me :)

Whats life if you never get to the point?
Can't complain when you get out May 26 ;)
Go up to the Lake Erie islands on Sunday. It's a great experience and the perfect trip for a Sunday afternoon. South Bass Island and Kelley's Island are the two main tourist islands. Go to http://www.putinbay.com/ for more information. There are numerous ferry rides that depart to and from the islands throughout the day. There are plenty of things to do and see on the islands. That would be my recommendation for your Sunday afternoon.
You'll be fine to as the kids around here. The majority of school districts in Lorain, Erie, Ottawa, and Sandusky counties don't get out until that Thursday or Friday.
BTW- The islands would be fun on a Sunday. Also, I'd recommend one of the off park restaurants operated by Cedar Fair for the food. You'll pay a little more, but the food is great. You can see a list on your park map. There is:
Breakwater Cafe (Sandcastle Suites)
Bay Harbour Inn (Waterfront)
Paddlewheel (Marina)
Dominics (Breakers)
Cafe (Breakers)
A deli and nice restaurant in the Radisson
And, there's always the Coasters. I hear they are getting a new menu :)
Thanks very much for all the suggestions, fellas! The islands sounds like a great idea for Sunday. I'll definitely plan on checking it out. Can't WAIT to get there! Thanks again!

Here in Oregon (right outside of Toledo), the kids get out on June 6th but I do believe the seniors get out a little sooner.
