It seems a bit weird to me that they didn't make a big update to www.cedarpoint.com on opening day.
I'm surprised that they haven't changed a few little things at least ...like the fact that it says "Feel the Force in just -2 days!"
I also figured they would have a brand new main logo featuring Millennium Force.
I guess they were too busy getting the park itself ready for opening day unlike some of their competitors that I won't mention by name :)
The web site is done by a seperate company I thought. The park operation should have little or no affect on the Web page. I have been saying for a while as the Force got closer to being done that the updates and info on the web site got less and less attention. It would not surprise me if it was awhile yet before they updated it.
I should have figured they would fix it soon after my post... they removed the countdown from the main page sometime in the last 10 1/2 hours.
I believe that the park takes care of all of the updates. I believe that the sales people do it. A year or two ago, I think it was a seperate company doing it. I may be incorrect :)
They have contracted another company to maintain it, but some aspects of it are maintained by the marketing department.
So what do you want updated? Do you want the site to sign and dance? I didn't update this site either, does that make it any less useful?

Forget about updates! That site needs to be redone completely! They should be using more powerful forms of technology, Macromedia Flash is what I'm talking about.

So we can wait all day for it to load like the Six Flags site? No thanks. Take it from a pro, more is rarely better.

Yes bandwidth consumtion is a problem with Flash, but they should do just an intro with it, the rest could be standard HTML ect.

I just want to clarify a few things :
I was in no way saying I want a more flashy page or anything of that nature... the flash version of www.sixflags.com is everything I DON'T want CP's site to be.
I was talking about an update that would simply state that the park (and the new record breaking coaster) is now open every day... and a picture featuring Millennium Force wouldn't be that bad of an idea. (I'd be in favor of them putting Magnum and MF together on the main page)
