When was MF thought of ?

I was just woundering, when was MF thought of. The planning, of it being layed out. I would think it would had taken some time to develope the cable and sled for the 310' hill and make the so quite?
Ummmm I was reading somehting from Monty Jasper who is in charge of the construction operations at cedar point. He said the initial thought and planning took place in 1997. Amazing how they kept it a secret for so long. Funny thing is, while they were building MF in 99/00 the idea of Dragster cam into play and the rough drafts od the design were made in 2000. Also amazing how that remained a secret till January 9th of '03. So when will the next coaster be built? Someone out there knows and its making me mad becuase I want it here now but i'll be patient because i know it will be worth the wait. I have been extremely impressed with every addition. Sorry to get off subject there but thats my story and I'm stickin to it.

I agree with what C.P. Soldier said. Every addition Cedar Point has ever made has improved the park more and more. Even this year's new paint and new restaurants, I thought made the park improve highly. It doesn't matter what they build, Cedar Point is makes it work well.

Any major project costing millions of dollars is going to take years to plan and finalize, if it's secret is leaked it could really damage the project and it's records with the supposed competition.

I know this if off topic but, does any one know when Ratopr and Mantis open, did it have a huge crowed, with lines going beyond two, three hours long like MF and TTD?
Raptor:

Crowds: 3 to 4 hour wait its first year of opperating(Depending on the day you go)

Mantis:

Year opened:1996

Crowds: 2 to 4 hour wait its first year of opperating(Depending on the day you go)

Compaired to...

Millennium Force:

Year opened: 2000

Crowds: 3 to 5 hour wait its first year of opperating(Depending on the day you go)

Top Thrill Dragster:

Year opened: 2003

Crowds: 2 to 6 hour wait its first year of opperating (Depending on the day you go)

*P.S. The wait times are average for the year/ busy part of the season *** Edited 9/16/2004 5:18:07 PM UTC by timbers01***

"Baby I'm ready to go!" Dragster 2004

i dont know where i read this, or if its even true, but whil CP was eventually going to add an Impulse Coaster They Added Wicked Twister the year before the opening of the strata to kinda throw people off guard, maby to draw there attention to the front of the park whos expects 2 200+FT Coasters back to back?
I thought they got Wicked Twister to see how it does in the park (You know the whole launching thing) and I heard somewhere that it was the test product for dragster.

No, the test product for Dragster was Xcelerator at Knott's Berry Farm. Dragster does not use impulse to move. It uses magnets to stop.

According to customs records, the first pieces of Millennium Force began to arrive in December, 1998. Not only did they keep it a secret, but they kept parts out of the public eye for another seven months.

ok to clear a few things up from what i know. I know that when mantis came out in '96 it had 2-4 hour waits. Over the years the line was not that bad until a few years ago when they decided to completely remove a trian. Mantis originally ran 3 trains but now 2 making the loading time quite slow. On a busy day or a saturday its pretty common to see the line the way it was back in '96. They also removed 2 trains from Gemini instead of having 6. you will never see 6 again now that can be an easy 30 minute to an hour wait.

Amazing how they can hide parts and stuff like that for that long. Who knows, they probably have track pieces of the next coaster stored in some hidden building or area on the Point.

Along with Saddam's weapons of mass destruction.
I think they're hiding this stuff in the DT building. Seriously, follow along with me for a second. The number on the front of the building is 12E, right? If you look at a 2 upside down in a mirror, what does it look like? It looks like a 5. If you look at a 1 upside down in a mirror, it still looks like a 1, and an E still looks like an E. So, if you reverse the order of the letter/numbers, you get E51, as in arEa 51! I figured it out!

Oh no! Their coming for me! Call for he.............

Hello. My name is Agent Smith. Nothing that that is written above is true. There is no place called Area 51 at Cedar Point or anywhere else, and there is no "they." That's really amazing since SFDL's Superman Ride of Steel opened in 1999. Why is that relevant? It was Intamin's first hyper, and if I'm not mistaken one of their first "modern era" coasters, with the box style track. Meaning Cedar Point signed Intamin to build this then record breaker without seeing any of their handy work at other parks, and no track record to speak of for the new design style...

ROUNDABOUND.

Superman has no box track. It's all two- and three-tube track. It wasn't even the first of their rides to use that style of track. As best I can tell, the first Impulse in Japan (Linear Gale) was first to use it (or at least I can't find an earlier example).

Yeah I think you Did solve it!!! I'm not kidding. If you look around real close in the DT queue in those dark spots up high, where the machines are located if you look up at the junk that is on the coveyor belt and follow it until it disappears you will see stuff stored like Halloweekends props and stuff like that! I truly think that is where it is all hidden.

"Baby I'm ready to go!" Dragster 2004

It wouldn't surprise me if they stored a load of stuff in DT's building.
