Thats NOT public info yet Lake54321 but I have "heard" something to that effect..Park opens 4,5 and closes for the week then opens 11,12 with one of those days being Basket Day for the Longenberger people than closes for the week and then opens for the season the weekend of the 18th I have heard...Not definitive but just what I have heard...

Does anyone know if the Point will be open by Memorial Day Weekend? I get a 3-day weekend, and that would be prime time for a trip to the Point with my friends...

It makes perfect sense to go under that theory, since the park was dead this year during the first two weeks on weekdays. That was door to some miserable weather and lack of a new attraction.

However look first few weekdays 2000 and those large crowds. When I went Tuesday, May 16th 2000 there still was a large crowd typical of a June weekday this year. That's a lot of money they probably made simply by having the park open that day. Also lots of school groups go that early and this would cause a potential overloading for those last 2 weeks of may.

Also I would think that would upset some of the employee's who get there that early. Spend 2 weeks at Cedar Point get to work 4 days I don't think will not fly with most.

ouchie!! methinks the thread is getting testy...hehehe.

cant blame Sparty for defending himself, that's for sure...

either way, the park cant open soon enough for me!! a little MF would taste real good right now.

it's warm and sunny here in the Midwest...

I haven't heard or "heard" anything yet, but I have a quick thought. Wouldn't they want to keep the park open during the week because of the new ride. Granted attendance was down, but then again it wasn't a ride year. Plus, what would they do with all the extra emplyoees during the week, other than clean.
Clean...

Remember.. a good majority of the park employee's won't even be there at that point. Much like the ending weeks.. they come back for weekends..

This schedule makes perfect sense to me, and after hearing it from Mr. Spartan, I've heard a very similar schedule from someone else also..

Memmorial Day 2001 at CP was REALLY BUSY, even though it was freezing cold out and damp all day!  But, once again I will probably go back again for M-Day in 2002.
Clean, what a good way to make money. :)

I hope they ate least looked at attendance for the fist weeks of "ride" years. If they did not pull a profit the first week of 2000 then BLA!  Cedar Point has never been wrong about scheduling. I mean look how well the plan to open the park and the gates at the same time worked out.
