And expect a long line no matter when you go.
No kidding. I keep telling them on their survey's they should implement some sort of online check-in associated with the app that could incorporate a digital key like Hilton and avoid the front desk altogether. I did thankfully get lucky a couple Fridays ago getting there just before 4:30.
Oddly enough, as a technology guy, and someone who frequently stays in Marriott and Hilton properties - I kind of *like* being forced to go check in the old fashioned way. When I'm on a trip that could be considered a vacation, it kind of takes me back to a time when I wasn't so dependent on tech. I don't like the long lines, but I do like the anticipation of arriving and "checking in" - knowing you're officially there. I don't know if that makes any sense to anyone else, or not.
It only became like that for me in the last few years, when we discovered the Club Level aspect of Disney hotels, and checking in at the concierge desk. It adds a little bit of a human touch to an otherwise ordinary thing, and kind of makes you feel like a guest, rather than just another face that's coming and going to the property.
