When does Breakers open?

Bret's avatar

Trying to get an answer for a friend and hoping someone here knows. What time does Breakers actually open it’s doors on a Halloweekends Friday? I know official check-in is 3:00 but figure they open up sooner than that. Thanks in advance to anyone who can help us out.

I wouldn't get there any earlier than check-in. There's probably no staff there before that. So I would take check-in time as opening time.

You can get there anytime after 1pm and get checked in.

No kidding. I keep telling them on their survey's they should implement some sort of online check-in associated with the app that could incorporate a digital key like Hilton and avoid the front desk altogether. I did thankfully get lucky a couple Fridays ago getting there just before 4:30.

Oddly enough, as a technology guy, and someone who frequently stays in Marriott and Hilton properties - I kind of *like* being forced to go check in the old fashioned way. When I'm on a trip that could be considered a vacation, it kind of takes me back to a time when I wasn't so dependent on tech. I don't like the long lines, but I do like the anticipation of arriving and "checking in" - knowing you're officially there. I don't know if that makes any sense to anyone else, or not.

It only became like that for me in the last few years, when we discovered the Club Level aspect of Disney hotels, and checking in at the concierge desk. It adds a little bit of a human touch to an otherwise ordinary thing, and kind of makes you feel like a guest, rather than just another face that's coming and going to the property.

I’m not sure there is much that will make you feel more like just another face than waiting in the insanely long registration cattle rush line at Breakers on a Halloweekend.

We got there at 3 a few weeks ago. The lady at the toll booth told me didn't want to let me in because I didn't have my reservation number. She did finally let me through. When we got to the hotel there were 50 cars already there. The bars and shops open at 3.

The toll booth at the main entrance? Weird. The only place we've ever been stopped for any type of verification is at the tiny booth just before you hit the parking lot.

As long as the bar is open...
