is it AFTER Labor Day weekend? or could we maybe get lucky and find a cheapie rate over Labor Day?? i am only asking beciase i SERIOUSLY need a trip to CP and it all depends on cost factors...i would like to go over Labor Day(more time) but if i have to, i will plan a whirlwind weekend trip for after. we don't NEED to stay at the park, that is just a once-a-year-luxury...

Depending on where you are coming from (and going home to), you might wanna check out rates a little further away. Last time we went the prices in Sandusky were insane so we stayed in Toledo for 1/2 the price!
Prices drop after Labor Day for the Bonus/Hallo-weekends. There is a package available for Breakers and Breakers Express if you stay for two nights. You get a 25% discount off the room rate plus 2 adult admission tickets and free parking.
25 percent off for 2 nights and 2 free tickets? Thats a great deal.
Guess who has the screened-in balcony suite with a fridge on closing weekend? Hmmmm... coincidentally just two weeks before my wedding. ;)

I'll bring the snacks as long as there are some nice cold "beverages" to drink.

Motel 6 in Amherst is around $42 for mid-October weekend and around $59 Labor Day weekend.
It's 1/8 mile from the Rt. 58 exit off of Rt. 2. An easy 30 minute drive from the park.

Jeff...the suites with a screened in balcony also have a coffeemaker and microwave, just so ya know. =) Are you in an HS2Q or a Horizon Suite?
HS2Q, baby!
Sorry folks, but the gathering I intend to have is a private affair with some of my best friends. We'll party in the park all day! I expect someone to buy beers as thanks for hosting the site! ;)

Let me clarify about the Econolodge. It's about $55 a night, or $110 for the weekend.

Jeff, this "night" in question. Isn't the BEST MAN suppose to buy the beverages? If he can't make it you better let me know so I can apply for a Home equity line of credit to pay for the drinks. (not because of the number we plan to drink just the Park cost)
That's two weeks before the wedding, and I want the best man to occupy the apartment while we're gone. I don't think I'm going to get him away from LA for an entire month!
So yes, you might have to fill that role as the second man in line!
