When do Ohio schools start?

I live in the Detroit area and before Fast Lane existed we always use to try to go to CP when Ohio schools were back in session. For the past few years I bought Fast Lane plus so it didnt matter but this year since Fast Lane is so expensive I am debating whether to pass on it and try to go when the park is less crowded again. The Ohio school calendars seem to be all over the place and I cant figure when to go. Seems like Cleveland goes back August 13th but Toledo and Cincinatti both go back on August 25th which doesnt help us that much.

Does anybody have any opinions on how crowded the park has been this summer? If I am looking to potentially go for one day between August 10th and 22nd will the lines be awful without Fast Lane plus? I really dont want to spend $300 for 2 people but I know over the last few years Fast Lane really made a difference in our trip. Thanks for any info

I swear, this topic comes up every year. But most Ohio schools start around August 21, at least here in the Cleveland area.

The district I work for and the district my kids attend both start he 25th. It's hard to know from year to year because some districts try to move it forward until the parents find out and make a fuss.

I also live around Detroit, in Novi. I don't start school until September 2nd, I think that is why they have Michigan days. https://www.cedarpoint.com/plan-a-visit/events. I am also planning on going between those dates (August 17-19). The hotel rooms were filling up fast, so they might be pretty busy.

I think for the most part Northern Ohio schools start around the 18th and 19th then southern Ohio schools start the following week.

Usually the park is a ghost town the last week of August.

I have to go by the 22nd so the last week isnt in play this year

In my opinion, the later you go the better it will be.

Summit County schools(Akron, Oh.) are starting between 8/22 and 9/2

Most school districts here in Mahoning County start the day after Labor Day. That should be the standard for all of them in Ohio.

My school district (outside of Cleveland) starts Wednesday 8/20.

Just look at the parks August operating schedule. Shorter hours means less people in the park. That coincides when schools start.

Monday the 18th for my kids. They started going in this early last year. This way they are done before June.

My son starts August 14, and we are in central Ohio.

Well it looks like I actually won 2 tickets in an online contest which makes it a lot easier to bite the bullet and buy Fast Lane Plus tickets :)
