Hey everyone,
Out of curiosity, I tried to find out the exact opening date for Millennium Force. I looked back in old forums, but I can't seem to figure it out. I was thinking maybe the 6th, 7th or 13th of May of 2000. Since I was only 7 years old at the time, can some of you Pointbuzz veterans help me out? Please and Thank You!

4 summers of employment in ride operations does stuff to you.

CP had a special "preview day" for AAA members on May 7, 2000. I can remember waiting 2 hr 45 min for my first amazing ride on MF that day. :) The park offically opened to the general public on 5/13.

Millennium Force debuted on May 13, 2000 at Cedar Point. I remember it well from when it was announced. I watched the webcam and construction everyday after school that year because I was so anxious and excited to try this new coaster. Since Millennium Force opened it's been my favorite coaster.

I figured it was the 13th. Reading about the AAA preview is what messed me up. Thanks guys! I also remember watching the construction on my good old dial-up internet. Good times. Good times. :)

Don't forget the Longaberger Basket Co.'s park buy-out.

^That was when I first rode Millennium, third train out for the day. Those were good times when I worked for them. Talk about a company that treated its employees well!

I'm assuming that this buy-out was the 6th?

I don't remember the exact day, it was too long ago. All I can tell you is Longaberger bought the park five years in a row before the park opened for the season.

Wow! It has been 10 years. I remember being on the 9th train out during that AAA day. Front row! I wish CP would open the first weekend of May like they used to years ago. At least we can ride into October.

I believe the basket buyout day was May 6 (Saturday), and the AAA day was May 7. Then the park opened to the public on May 13.
