Opening day we noticed some kind of a mud flap on the right rear wheel of each train. Were the there last year, and what's the purpose of them?
-------------
Former name was B-Town
It's to help static discharge. A charge that would normally build up on the train and short out equipment in the station doesn't build up because that flap grounds the train to the track.

The Gemini 100. I'm ready, are you?
Very good Squishy Pants
Those rubber stribs on the back of the train are to get rid of the static electricity that forms from the the poly wheels on the metal track. Without these the entire crew would get shocked everytime we touched the car, not to mention the guests that were trying to get out. Great answer to a great question!

There was also a long thread last year about this and the various location of the straps on the differnet trains. Last year I know the yellow's was on car 5 if I remember.
