Wheelchairs and marathoning a ride

i am looking to get back to CP in October. chances are good that i will need a wheelchair to get around the park from now on.

if my group wants to marathon on MF or Maggie or something, would we be allowed to do so, or is there a limit to how many laps you can do while using the handicapped access program?

i need to know this soon so i can either A)up my physical therapy and my walking abilities or B) talk my group into NOT marathoning MF...

if anyone has ANY idea about this, thanks in advance...

You can sign up for a ride 3 times (or thats supposed to be the limit) but usually they cross of the wild cat or something and sign up in that.

Does that make any sense?

yeah it does...so if we wanted to oh say, SKIP Wildcat or CCMR or DT, would they just cross those off too?? i don't think three MFs is gonna cut it for me, ya know?? ;)

If the ride-op lets you. Once and a while we ran into one that wouldn't let you, but most of the time you can. And I know what you are talking about w/ MF! (hint: tell the ride op you want front seat when you sign up and you can get it w/ out waiting!)
Go to GR or parks ops and tell them if they try and limit your rides. You are virtually waiting in line just like everyone else so you should have the chance to ride a paticular ride as much as you want, just like everyone else.

Servo, I posted a bit on CBuzz a minute ago about this.

You could ask at the Park Op office directly and see if they'll do it for you, writing in an "okay" or something like that, so the ride ops won't question it -- just explain in the office what you want to do, no problem. So long as you're still "waiting" the length of the line, it shouldn't be a problem.
Be careful with the initials thing. My guess is they won't do it. We had a group of clowns attempt to change the number of people in their party from 5 to 6 last year and put initials on it (Marcia's initials I think) like someone in park op did it. Needless to say, we called a supervisor and it all turned out to be bogus. It is park policy that only up to 5 people can board the ride up the exit and the rest must go through the normal line.

If you use all the slots up, you might be able to go to park op and trade in your book for a new one. Keep in mind that you're still "waiting in line" so if the wait on MF is an hour, you're going to take an hour to get one ride done. It's not as though you don't have to wait at all. You just don't have to wait in the queue! :) I don't see how they can limit the rides if you are "waiting" each time. For some reason, it seems to me like there were more than three slots, but I don't remember.

Funny how much more rational the responses here are than they were on CoasterBuzz.

Wow, you aren't kidding Jeff! What a bunch of uneducated fools! :) Joe E explained it very well over on Coasterbuzz. CP's policy regarding this is very fair to both people in wheelchairs and people waiting in the normal line. There is no "skipping" the line for wheelchair bound guests. After obtaining the proper booklet from park operations, they simply go to the entrance of the ride, get a boarding time (based on the length of the line) and when that time arrives, they go up the exit (or ramp at MF) and get right on. There are to be no "double bookings" either which means you can only reserve one major ride ride at a time. Basically, guests in a wheelchair still wait. They just don't wait in the queue. There can be up to 5 people total (including the wheelchair person) in the group (unless they changed it this year). Personally, I thought it'd be a good idea if they made this number either 4 or 6 (an even number) because last year we had an instance or two when people tried to get an extra person on, we said no, and the seat ended up going out empty anyway.

Honestly I can't remember all that many people coming to ride more than 3 times last year, but I think in the few cases they did, we just stamped beyond the end of the boxes with 335 (Magnum's number) and wrote a new time.

It's my understanding that CP considers that MF queue to be handicap accessible. Therefore, she will need to wait in line with her friends(In her chair of course). This is the same policy that PKI has with SOB's queue.

I would check with the park before going. My wife refuses to ride MF because of her fear of heights, so we never tested their policy with respect to MF.

This is true to an extent, but you wait for 5 minutes or so until you reach the end of the UNLOADING station where there is a door. You go in there and they put you in the seat and you ride over into the main station. (REQUEST FRONT ROW IF YOU WANT IT AT THE ENTRANCE)

The best idea you got in here is to ask at park ops Servo. If you decide to power ride MF (or which ever) then tell them that in park ops. I do think the 3x was the limit on the pass. If the wait is let's say 15 minutes, if you ride then wait your 15 minutes then I am sure the ride ops would be ok with this. Your issue may end up more with the riders waiting to ride. If one sees you ride then sees you return (if they wait on the 1st car for example) they may make a stink that you're riding again. We all know how the GP can be sometimes-blech! Why not email CP and just ask them?

Matt-btw-the best ride in the park's # is 0344 ;)

A reason why the pass may allow an odd number of people, is if someone wants to wait with belongings -- then that number of people may be on the platform, though one may not ride. Does seem strange to use an odd number, though.
