Whats worse PKI or CP?

Whats worse? Being PKI last year and having a special press anouncement to announce that they are building a new ride and not telling anyone what it is. On the other hand we have CP that just starts to build the thing, make it really obvious what it is and just have the press out to cover it, but can't tell them what it is.

well CP is probably worse...they didnt say Nothing about this new ride...just said that they are building a ride, and thats it. Cedar point starts to buld it and lets everybody just keep guessing, leaving in them in the dark until who knows when.

Yes that is kinda frustrating but then again if they announced it right away we would have nothing to talk about on this forum, in a way i think its kinda fun

At least ours isn't in a box. I'd rather have an obvious ride with no announced name yet than an obvious name without an announcement about the ride.

Dan, I think they are both interesting cases, and the both must have their reasons for what they do. Either way, they both generated a hell of a lot of talk among enthusiasts.

I don' t know KICK THE SKY, I think they way PKI handled TR:TR was brilliant. You can't BUY that kind of press, and suspense that people were feeling up to and including Opening Day. Points to CP for trying the same thing.

I like the email they send out saying, Hey look at our new ride! But we can't tell you what it is yet!

I wouldn't say the word "worse", I would say better publicity stunt though.

I think that PKI's press release is a better publicity stunt than building a ride with no notice.

Just to be an English Freak... you are using double negatives. Double negatives are bad because you pretty much said that they have said something about it. ;) (Didn't and Nothing are both negative words that were used in the same sentance)

I'd say PKI is worse, because they (if I remember right) invited everyone out saying will tell you about our new addition, and said nothing at all. CP is just building it and letting it speak for itself, who needs to hear an announcement. I can see them waiting till next year to announce it.

The only people that would be mad at CP are those that are not enthusiasts (that's the majority) that don't keep up to date on coasters. Those that know what's going on, don't really care since they basically know what it is already.

Must ... fight ... urge ... to jump all over someone for the hoary old "double negatives" lecture. Nothin' wrong with 'em folks - perfectly within the rules. (In Latin two negatives mean a positive; but as English is syntactically Germanic, the second negative serves as reinforcement - i.e. Big D didn't do nothing wrong. Translation - he really didn't do anything wrong).

I think its a conspiracy with Jeff and CP! CP delays the announcement so CB and GTTP rank up users and posts to increase ad sales!:) I'm just joking of course! However I think it depends on what the ride will end up being, L-TH-B, or more to the coaster!

as far as the L-TH-B is concerned, The ammount of twisted track in the soak city lot that pretty much would be enough to double twist on both sides of the tophat. i'm not sure if they'll be putting in a double twisting tophat.

I think it is/was a good plan, but if you notice the theorizing and discussion is dieing down. There's nothing left to discuss. I think if they wait to much longer, those following the ride construction will lose interest. I know I'm getting kind of bored of reading the same thing. Just my thoughts...

The theorizing is dying down because it's becoming more and more obvious what it will be.

I also suspect that posting is down a bit this week due to the release of RCT2! :) I might be totally off base with that, but it seems like there's nothing going on here or on Coasterbuzz this week! :) I go for hours without checking and hardly anything new comes up.

Yes I think posting is down due to RCT2 because is usually goe online at the beginning of the day and spent hours online but because I just got RCT2 last night is pent many hours today playing 2 scenerios! Just got online less than an hour ago!

I don't see the GP being angry at CP for releasing the new ride later. I think the only people it would really upset would be us coaster-haulics (hi, my name is Mike and I'm.....addicted to roller coasters). But CP knows that, no matter how upset we get over them releasing it late, we'll still be there to ride it.
