After Millennium Force, what will be next? A woodie? A mega-looper? What else do they have to conquer?
I'm too excited about the new ride this year, let alone a ride 2-3 years down the road. The next ride will be again something that no one expects...what its going to be I'm not telling!!!
(My money is its going right over the spot where Mangum sank)

other kings said I was daft to build a castle on a swamp, but I built it all the same ... just to show 'em....but it sank into the swamp. So I built a another one ......that sank into the swamp. I built another one ... That fell over and THEN sank into the swamp .... So I built another ... and that stayed up. --MPs "Holy Grail"

What I would really like to see is one of those new "flying" coasters where you lay down and its supposed to feel like your flying like superman.

HA HA HA, MELLENIUM FORCE, YEAH BUDDY!
I agree with Funphantom! I would like to see the new flying coasters at CP! But I don't care MF is fine for me!!!!!!

Another random thought of a newt
Flying coasters are made by Vekoma though, and CP has not dealt with them in the past. They are more for smaller parks. CP needs to keep with their tradition of every new ride being something new and different. PGA's "Stealth" isn't that great of a ride, and if they are all like that, then I don't CP will do it. And I hope they don't. I think it will be something fresh and new.
I want am too caught up w/ MF to care what is going in next. As long as it's big and something fresh than I will be pleased!
Woodstock Express is a Vekoma coaster. Cedar Fair is also installing a Vekoma boomerang at Worlds of Fun.
I personally think the flying coaster is a good idea, and if they can get it right and capacity doesn't suck, I'd welcome one.
But as others have already stated, I'm content to deal with this year's ride.

Besides, rumor has it that Paramount worked with Vekoma on the design. Odds are Paramount secured the rights to this new style for a few years. If it's a hit, expect to see them in other Paramount parks years before any CF or SF parks.

I would love to see a nice mid-sized CCI woodie, along with that rumored boardwalk project!!!

Yeah Baby!!!
How can anyone not be happy with this year's addition? It will easily hold my interest for the next couple years. After that, a CCI woodie would be nice. Or maybe a Thrust Air? I really believe that the Stealth (flying) coaster will always be a low capacity ride and wouldn't fit at CP very well. We will see. There is one thing that's for certain; MF will be a hard act to follow!
I don't see why that a flyer would be have any less capacity than Mantis, I mean, the only diff between a normal coaster and a flying is that riders hop in backwards. The seats don't tilt back until the cars start climbing the hill. So if you were thinking they have to lay down to get in, they don't. I think a ride like Kumba would be nice, by the way. A flyer would work for me, though.

Thank you for riding Raptor and enjoy your day here at Cedar Point, America's RollerCoast!
Jsut think of how much time it takes riders of Mantis to get their seats adjusted and lock their seatbelts in place. A flying coaster would be this headache to the tenth power. Even more adjusting=lower capacity. It's a cool idea but I jsut don't know if I would want Vekoma to be the designer. Their trfack is engineered in a fashion similar to Arrow Track which is by no means the "best aging" track. On most coasters, it gets pretty darn rough after a few years.

Yeah... you have to wonder why Vekoma and Morgan continue to build track with these giant ties, compared to the shorter, more rigid ones found on B&M's and now Intamin (whose ties are essentially the spine).
Mantis has sad capacity these days, and it's "easy" by comparison. On a flying coaster, add more steps. There's the lap bar, then the separate shoulder straps that have to be buckled. Then consider Stealth is relatively short with only two trains.

An Airthrust coaster would be perfect for CP. They could put one of those almost anywhere they want because their isn't a lot of track leading up to that monster hill! I remember reading reviews of the Airthrust prototype in which people said they were amazed how close the hill was to the station. CP could make the thing as high as they want too.
