What's in a name?

Well, it's not the best name in the world, but it's not the worst either.  Personally, I think anything with the word "twister" in it sounds gay.  ("not that there's anything wrong with that"--Seinfeld)  It also sounds cheap too.  Like a temporary attraction or game.
I disagree with your assessment completely.  I think twister gives it a very timeless feel.  Wicked Twister will be as good a name ten years from now as it is now.
You mean it sounds stupid?
It sounds more like a synonym of a pre-existing ride at the park.  Wicked~Mean, Twister~Streak.  At least it wasn't called Wicked Streak or Mean Twister.  There's already one too many streaks in the park and trying to stick anything else to the word twister just sounds bad.  I do think that substituting funnel for twister would have been better.  Psychlone is overused, so that's not a possibility.  Ironic however that the ride actually dedicates homage to the local region though, as do most all the coaster rides.  None of them have names of things that aren't part of the area's history or natural setting. (i.e., we have hawks (raptors), manti, copper mines (mine rides), barn cats (wild cats), we surely celebrated the year two-thousand as did everyone else (MF) and so on.)  The twister is a truly frightening storm that occurs in this region and is debatably the most destructive.  So, it may be a bit cliché by now, it still hits home.  The thing is that Cedar Point has no cookie-cutter theme, so finding a name that would represent the park is close to impossible.  I'm glad they didn't go the way of pop culture and be cute by trying to call it CP15.  So of course as stated before, not the best, but not the worst.

I'm part Irish, and I have no beef with the name Banshee.  However, Banshee doesn't really have a lot to do with anything around here.

Sure it does....I'm sure people occasionally die in Sandusky.  Yeah, not the best of references but it is a link.

Welcome back Magnum riders how was your ride?

I keep wanting to say Twisted Sister when I see it. It also reminds me of Wicked Lester, the pre-KISS band of Gene Simmons and Paul Stanley

I found the name to be a bit tacky, but I like it. I think Fury would have fit it better, but oh well, the ride still sounds damn cool.

Missing something slugger?

The interesting thing is that the name "Wicked Twister" was actually thought up by a seasonal employee in Marketing.
Congrats AJ!

I am sorry but I don't like the name. I think its a bad one. The twister part is tight but wicked? I mean they couldn't do better? I like the whole Balistic Twister and all that. Gale Force would have been tight if it wasn't for Millennium Force.

You are the Weakest Link, Goodbye.
Lake Effect would have been cool but it doesnt reall hae teh vision that wicked twister has.

I think I would have preferred Balistic Twister, myself, but I do like the Twister part as that's exactly what those two towers do. Anyway, if I recall correctly (and there's a good possiblity I'm not) it seems that Banshee was announced, and even some promotional items distributed before they decided to change the name to Mantis. So if any locals get REALLY bent out of shape over the "wicked" part, would CP change the name?

I'd rather die living than live like I'm dead

What would the name be if it had something to do with the WTC?
