What you you like to see done with the former Geauga Lake property?

Another shopping center? Mall? Condos? I don't know how much more shopping areas Cleveland needs but some arn't doing very well already. Rolling Areas in Akron is nearly dead as well as nearby Randall Park mall. Someone said a possibility of an entertainment center with upscale restaurants and nightspots.

Whatever they do I hope its done quickly. I would hate to see the area become another Chippewa with rides just rotting away.

I don't think you'll see anything rotting away. Whatever they can't sell or get rid of will be razed.

A potential use for the land could be something similar to the Westford development in Canfield, Ohio:

I hope they do whatever will yield the most revenue and profit so they have more to invest in all their other properties.

I'm not sure what will happen to the land. But, HERE is how much land is actually for sale.

That's a LOT of land.

If you zoom in on that map, it sure looks like the acreage in the Happy Harbor area won't be for sale. That could be a positive sign they intend to keep those flats, and the nets, up for next season. One minor bone, but I'll take it.

Is the 150 acre chunk on the far East side the campground?

Loopy's avatar

Yes Tim, part of that 150 acres is developed into campground.

Why sell that much? Sell a little bit of it but Im still going with this approach:

Mid west's largest water park.

Lets say we all chip in, buy the land and put a world class amusement park there! :)

Oh...wait...never mind! ;)

I think condos or something along that line would be perfect. Only because hopefully it would increase the crowds for WWK next season. I only hope what ever it is they try to keep some of the trees and green around.

I think we're all a tad sick of seeing fields, woods and nature turning into WalMarts, Targets or Home Depots.

It's all about getting around the barrels, or over the fences, right leads, no faults, fastest time and looking pretty when done. What's so hard about that?

Parking for Cedar Point.

11 years.

Look at that map, it seems kind of odd that they are keeping the happy harbor area, but not the land between it and the road. It seems like they would keep that as part of the park, since it can't add much value (if any) to the 192 acre parcel.

Seeing all these websites, selling the land, selling the Coasters, just don't seem real.

I am sure they are, but it doesn't feel right. . .

I can't believe this is happening, it all seems like a dream. Wake us up... :( Just Weird.

GATEKEEPER-I came, I rode, I was mildly disappointed; until a second ride (rear left) put GateKeeper back on the...it's a nice ride list.

I think a nice Mobile Home park with a campground adjacent would look lovely there... OHhh wait, we have one of those called Bayshore estates in Sandusky already <end Sarcasm>

Oh and sorry Mike, if you look a little closer, the dry ride area and the nets look like they're getting cut in half.

Here's a more clear look at the way the fuzzy Adobe brochure is.

Thanks for the better set of glasses. If those lines are correct, it looks like they'll be losing Boardwalk Typhoon and Bounty. Since the nets probably can't half exist/half not, that suggests those would be going too. On the other hand, those lines might be off by a few feet, thereby preserving both nets and rides.

On the other, other hand, they might just raze all the flats and install the World's Largest Cornhole Toss.

Oops, forgot. That's scheduled for CP in 2010. ;)

Hi! I am just joining your post! I am wondering if they are planning to make the small amount of of land for a tax right off?

Loopy's avatar

Nah, I bet they keep it for the tax "left" off rather than the "right" one.
