What was Tribant

I don't know if I even spelled the name right but what is the ride Tribant and what did it look like?

It was the same as Schwabinchin. Click the link, for $100,000, you could have your own.

That would be awsome to own something like that. You could set it up in your back yard and ride when ever you wanted.

The pirate ride was a dark ride. You can see remnants of the pirates during halloweekends, also the building where the ride was at is the quarter deck arcade. The arcade is near Blue streak. Thats all that I can think of. I never rode it though! I do remember hearing about people vandalizing it though. ------------------

I rode it when I was a lot younger. It had a sort of Disney feel to it for me. It was supposed to be kind of scary and you banged through doors and there were pirates everywhere, I think that sorta sums it up :) Virtualmidway.com has a good description of it in their defunct rides section.

The Trabant was located near the Scrambler on the other side of the nacho/drink stand. It was a standard model Trabant. I believe it ran from 1966 to 1990. It was quite similar to Schwabinchen except that Schab was an import and had a slanted platform while Trabant's was straight level. Once a common ride at many parks and fairs, the numbers of traditional trabants have dwindled. Coney Island in Cincinnati and Conneaut Lake on the western edge of Pennsylvania still have Trabants. The windstorm is a modern update of the Trabant with a few changes and Windstorms can be found at Waldameer, Kennywood and SFWOA {Opening 2003}.
Wasnt rotor a graviton type ride though?

The Pirate ride was cool. I remember when I was a kid it was scary. It was pitch black and mechanical pirates and skeletons popped out of everywhere. You got into a little pirate ship on wheels that could about 4 to 5 people. There was also an Earthquake ride set up just like the Pirate ride but that was closed a few years before the Pirate Ride. I also remember Cedar Point having a Rotor but that was like over 20 years ago.
when was this thread about pirates of the carribean??? or a rotor??? this is about tribant which was like swabinchinn(really bad spelling) but im glad they got rid of it even though it was a classic it got boring after several rides, now chaos is in its place

Not pirates of the caribbean, I think you're confusing CP with some other park maybe somewhere in FL :) The Pirate Ride was pretty cool, went on it for the last time when I was 12 or 13...

If someone were to buy that ride for $100,000, make sure you don't operate it while you're home alone. You could start it and hurry to get in, but then how could you get out? Can't jump out going at full speed or slow it down. You would have to wait for someone to get home to turn it off. Would be neat to have a remote control for it. However, it would be a fantastic money maker for the person to charge admission to ride the thing. Start with the people in your neighborhood and slowly branch out. I'm sure you could eventually get it to pay for itself in about 20 years. If you keep it in good shape.

A remote control would be cool, or you can automate it pretty easily with a PLC interfaced to some relays that take the place of the buttons on the control panel. Just put a delay in for about a min., so you can get in, let the ride run for a certain amount of time that you choose, and then shut it down.

Florida may have Disneyworld and Key West,
but Ohio has Cedar Point and Put-In-Bay.
