What to do in line?

I'm always by myself in line for almost all the roller coasters (sad to say my family doesn't enjoy them much...), but on the other rides with a long line (that they go on), I usually bring a deck of Tri-Bond.
If you have a cell phone with games on it, that seems to make the time go quicker for me.
I sometimes enjoy talking to people I don't know in line. I like to find out where they are from, if they've ever been to CP, and if so, what their favorite ride is. My brother, on the other hand, I sometimes have to ignore. He is one of those people whom want to talk coaster stats while in line further proving he is a nerd. :) I don't mind talking stats, but I do it where none are in earshot. And, I ususally make fun of the guy standing in line boasting all of his coaster knowledge. If only they knew how stupid they look.

I'm also learning card tricks to entertain my friends while in line. *** Edited 9/13/2004 3:51:22 PM UTC by DragsterRaptor***

Lol, if someone wants to talk stats, I'll pull out a book on rollercoasters.
i dont know, but i forget what its like standing in line, i hate standing in line for caoster, but not being to Cedar Point in 4 months, i wish i was standing in line for anycoaster right now, even it it was 10 hours long...
Definetely play games on my cell or request a song to the DJ and yell at him if he doesn't play it.

Yes the dj's do make the time go faster. I know they have a booth on dragster, magnum, m.f. raptor, and I THINK mantis, The one on magnum is hardley used because of 15 mins waits. Dragster im not usre cause ive never been on it. Raptor ive seen on a slect few ocassions with a dj. M.F. almost always has a dj which is a good thing. Every day ive been there the dj has been good and plays a variety of music from macarana to some new rock songs and everything in between. Now that i mention it that wouldent be a bad job.
I like to talk to people exspecially first time riders

I also where my shirts that have roller coaster facts and all the girls behind usualy want to read all of them and then you have a good conversations

Macarena was only OK at best to listen to, and that was 8 years ago when it was first released. It needs to be retired and their play-list updated. I'd much prefer more 80's rock.

80's would be nice. Actually, I don't really mind any music, so I can't complain.

Smoking Marijuana isn't a bad thing or even a good one, like everything else, its what you make of it.

Thank God for cargo pockets because I always have my Gameboy Advance on me whenever I'm at a park. Nothing like some Mario Cart or Donkey Kong Country to eat up the time during Dragster downtime or long Millennium Force lines. If I'm alone my iPod is nice but sometimes it puts me in a weird kind of zombie-like state.

Is it just me, or does anyone else think that someone reading a book or playing a video game at an amusement park is an indication of them being anti-social? It can't be because you run out of things to talk about, can it?

This isn't directed towards anyone particularly in this thread, but through my time spent at the park, it just seems like you should be enjoying the environment and atmosphere while you can, instead of blocking it out. It seems like these items should be against queue etiquette.

I wouldn't do it, but I guess it depends on the situation. If you're there alone, I don't think it's anti-social if you don't want to talk to stranges in line.

I agree Walt it does depend on the situation. Sometimes I'll look around the queue and thank my lucky stars I have my Gameboy. Other times I'm having such great conversations it doesn't even cross my mind to play it. Like I said in my earlier post I use it for Dragster and Millennium Force lines when I know it's gonna be a good long wait.

CP_bound, at work I get paid to be nice to hordes of not so nice people so if I lean towards being anti-social outside of work or my circle of friends it feels like a luxury! ;) I'm not a grinch though!

Yeah, I think it depends on your situation. If your able to go to CP whenever you want, or pretty much whenever, you'd be more apt to do non-cedar point things like Gameboy. But me, for example, I'd never take a book or Gameboy or anything like that to CP. It's just that I never get to go much, so I try to soak up it as much as I can, even if it is just standing in line.

That's funny, we've noticed them also. How can anyone play cards? I don't think tables are an on ride option, I was told to put mine in a locker. I love to people watch and especially nose in on what people have heard about CP rides and accidents. My daughter and I will thumb wrestle our why through the line. That passes some time.

Is there any major construction on SR2, or the Ohio Turnpike? Or even on (SR?)250? I know Interstate 280 thru Toledo may cause some delays. Any other delays that someone may know of?

I do the exact same whenever I'm in line (including the stats thing).

How about what to do when there is NOT a line????..hehehe...I pulled a good one on Blue Streak this year. All the queue lines were cha8ined up except the one, which would have guided the guests up the the others, and therefore make them walk thru all of them. I chained it up, and by the way, it was a walk right on affair, and i rode the coaster. Now, we get to the ready brakes, and the two girls with me started laughing their asses off, so i look, and there are three people walking thru all the queue lines for an empty ride....too funny....How about how to screw with the lifeguards...i wont go there yet:)
I enjoy laughing at people who pay $2 for a candy bar. I could go to Giant Eagle and buy 10 for that price.
