Is it true the park will accept food stamps at food stations this year?
Wouldn't worry too much about the gold passers clogging up parking. They will show up in El Caminos with 15-20 of them in back. Free parking isn't a factor because of the fleet of vehicles (being very generous with that term here) in the front yard of their 2 bedroom house with 30-35 adults living there, only the the El Camino can make it all the way to Cedar Point. A couple others run but they keep those in the locked garage lest the repo man gets em. Rest are up on blocks.
PSA: As you pull into the parking lot this season, watch out for people getting out of the back of El Caminos and pick me up trucks. Probably will see some grills in giant barrels too.
Oh, and another note regarding the new parking lot booth area. As you approach the old booths the area to the left side of the roadway had a grass strip with some shrubs and it had those shrub statues of Lucy, Sally, Linus, etc..... That area has been totally cleared away, so I wonder where they will place the Peanuts gang.
Or offer it all up to this place so they can sell it back to enthusiasts. Not a bad price either if you have the space for one.
Posted shortly ago (copied and pasted from a Cleveland.com article): More newly released info about the upcoming season.....
Cedar Point also announced several other improvements for its 150th season, which begins May 9. Also new for this year:
* In an effort to alleviate traffic congestion at the park entrance, Cedar Point has revamped its entryway with new booths, digital signage, additional vehicle lanes and improved traffic patterns. The goal is to better streamline traffic flow in and out of the park.
* A new vegetarian/vegan restaurant, Wild Turnip, located at the end of Frontier Trail. Choices here will include salad bowls, plant-based bratwurst and gluten-free personal pan pizzas. Also new: Custard Creamery, just below the Sky Ride station near the Scrambler.
* Twenty-five additional “Ultimate RV Patio Sites” at Lighthouse Point, for a total of 145; plus ongoing renovations at Castaway Bay Indoor Waterpark Resort and Sawmill Creek Resort, which was purchased by Cedar Fair last year. (there's your 4 extra added acres).
