What ONE tip would you give a CP newcomer?

This question was actually begat from a question I was considering for a future game.  However, I thought the public boards would be a better forum.

Okay, here's the scenario: A familiy is travelling to CP for the very first time, and knows nothing about it. What insider hints/tips/suggestions would you give to that family?  These can be as simple or advanced as you want.  To keep the noise down, please take a look to see that your tip wasn't already posted.

I'll start with one that I just addressed in another thread.  If you'll be at CP more than one day, stay onsite.  You can park your car for the duration, not fight traffic, and return to your room whenever you want to change clothes or rest.

Let's see what kind of list we can come up with.

-----------------

If you take Duanes tip and stay onsite, walk down to the boardwalk enterance.....  Gets you into a "family" area right away and allows quick access to Raptor and/or MF.

Be sure to see the live shows!  Also, don't go on days when I'm visiting, that way my lines are shorter. ;)  j/k  Bring comfortable shoes, shorts, long pants, t-shirt, sweatshirt, jacket, rain gear if you like; the weather can change in an instant, be ready.  If you can weather a storm on the Point, you'll be standing in short lines the rest of the day!

If you plan on making the mad dash to MF...use the Marina gate...and then run to Mantis when you get off...and then run to the back of the park.

Hope that made sense :)

Totally agree Nilawd. Would also suggest getting in shape prior to your trip - makes the dash to MF easier - and faster. :)
Don't miss the french fries. Don't leave if it rains (the rain may pass, taking all the folks who left because of the rain with it). Don't miss the spaghetti at Cedar Villa while you're visiting Sandusky. (Cedar Villa's not at Cedar Point, it's be that Econo Lodge near the Radisson.)
While I agree with the "back of the park first" strategy, I would suggest not riding Mean Streak until the sun has gone down.  There'll be no line and, regardless of what you think of the ride, at night it is a work of art, simply the most gorgeous coaster on the planet ...
Learn from what has been said here and HAVE FUN!  :)
Sunscreen and good-fitting, worked in shoes. :)

Don't skip Blue Streak, you'll be missing a lot.

Learn the whole story and plot of Disaster Transport before you go...that way you won't be lost during the ride. :)
That big building with 12-E on the side is NOT a generator station! And goto the park with an open mind and no expectations. I think you'll enjoy it more that way.

'Gravity knows no force like Millennium Force.'
Don't be afraid to smack hands on the Gemini!!!
Very simple...

Leave the world behind you as you enter those gates. All your problems.. your worries, your fears. Leave them behind when you enter, they'll be there when you get back.

Have fun..

MF total - 385 laps
June 11th, 2001 - Gemini 100

Like others have said come in with an open mind and don't let complaints throw you off. Walking shoes would be good too :)
