Obviously, CP with Maverick and Valleyfair with Renegade. But what about the rest? Here are my uneducated predictions.
Dorney Park: Hydra was put up last year, so not much. Maybe a new flat.
Michigan's Adventure: Even though they haven't had a new major coaster since Shivering Timbers in 1998, they did get Grand Rapids last year. So, squat for 2007.
Worlds of Fun: The paint is still drying on Patriot. But they may try to build on the growing attendance and put up a couple minor new rides.
Knott's Berry Farm: It will have been three years since Silver Bullet went in, so this moneymaking park is about due. Problem: where to put it? The next big ride that goes in this place will be with a shoehorn.
Geauga Lake: The real wild card of all the CF parks. Probably increased attendance to the new water side, but probably still losing money. With 30 million in investments in the last two years, I don't expect much, even though the last coaster to go in was X-Flight in 2001.
And now for the Paramount units. These are primarily determined by what Paramount had previously decided, since CF stated they would abide by Paramount's previous capital plans. Since they new by last off-season that they were going to sell the parks, that means... probably not much.
King's Island: CF will be busy fixing Son of Beast. Except for a new slide or water attraction, don't look for much.
Canada's Wonderland: the crown jewel of the Paramount acquisitions. Since they got their Italian Job last year, not much new will be coming.
King's Dominion: their IT version is even newer than PCW. Decision: not much for next year.
Carowinds: Borg Assimilator came in 2004, so they're close to due. Maybe a couple new flats.
Great America: This is the park that is long overdue for a new ride. I give it a 50/50 chance they'll get a major coaster. If so, look for a small woodie like Valleyfair. (The only other one in the park is Grizzly, now two decades old.)
As I said, these are uneducated predictions. But it's fun, nevertheless. I'd like to see what others guess.

Uneducated, not fun, and not allowed on a CP only forum.

Dorney Park: Probably Nothing..
Michigan's Adventure: I'd think this place would get a big new Flat Ride, like a Screamin' Swing..
Worlds of Fun: I don't know
Knott's Berry Farm: There pretty cramped for space, but I betthey could fit a Wooden Coaster like Cornball Express somewhere.. But I think Ghoastrider needs some work done to it.
Geauga Lake: A B&M hyper coaster ;)
"And now for the Paramount units. These are primarily determined by what Paramount had previously decided, since CF stated they would abide by Paramount's previous capital plans. Since they new by last off-season that they were going to sell the parks, that means... probably not much."
King's Island: Fixing SoB, I don't know..
Canada's Wonderland: "the crown jewel of the Paramount acquisitions."??? Uhh, Hopefully a Water Park edition.. Eh, they might as well turn it all into a parking lot;)
King's Dominion: Probably nothing.
Carowinds: Probably nothing.
Great America: It's hard, I think a 50/50 chance of a major coaster, but probably a Flat Ride..
I think most stuff would be announced by now if they were getting anything.

^^ Well yeah, I know. But it seems like it's sort of in a gray area... If legitimate threads about CF buying out Paramount were posted and allowed this spring, why wouldn't one about what CF will do with said parks be permitted now? I was really just trying to spice things up a bit. If/when Walt closes this out, I won't get my panties in a bunch. ;)

I think we may see more expansion at MiAdv than you'd think. However, I wouldn't put much money on it being rides for a while. I believe a campground and or hotel has been discussed before, and I wouldn't be surprised to see that go in before any more rides.
Although, I wouldn't mind seeing a good flat ride or 2 go in. They could use a power tower.

I think a campground has a greater potential ROI than anything else they could build there, but this is simply an uninformed and unsubstantiated opinion.

Kinzel or someone high in the CF exec line did mention that MiA would be a very possible location for another indoor waterpark resort.

Three things you need to fix anything in the universe: duct tape, WD-40, and a hammer. Duct tape if it moves and it shouldn't, WD-40 if it doesn't move and should, and the hammer as the last resort.
Knott's, the second most attended CF park, hasn't had any significant additions for two years. You'd think they'd get something. Also, wasn't there a rumored waterslide for DP?
Go Cubbies!
2007 hopefuls: SFGAdv, CP, PKI, HW, DP, HP, GL!
This is along the same topic, so I'll add it here. But, I really hope Cedar Fair starts individualizing their parks more. I mean, all of the fonts for signs are the same, trash cans are the same, rides are starting to have similar names, they're installing the "same" rides at all their parks, and I just noticed their resorts are starting to be the same. http://www.worldsoffun.com/public/accommodations/
If they expect people to use their Maxx Pass and start visiting multiple CF parks in one season, they better make them different. Dorney Park was fun, but it was eerily like a mini-CP. I'm not sure I'd go back since none of their rides are that different than CPs. Sure, Hydra is different, but I wasn't a big fan of Hydra anyways.
There's something to be said for brand continuity, but you have to be very careful not to just duplicate your parks like SF has done.
I think the parks are unique enough on their own that having a solid brand identity is a good thing. If you have a good experience at their flagship park, you're likely to feel that much better at their other parks, perhaps. Of course, that theory could swing both ways.
Brandon
I brought up Renegade a fwe days ago and the thread got locked. I don't have a problem with this, but I think it is time to have other forums on this site for the CF parks. Just like the one we have for GL. I know GL is close by, but as CP enthusiasts, some of us also like to know things about the other parks in the chain. I don't see any harm in this. I would like to know what everyone else thinks of this.
thanks for listneing to my rant.

Well, it is Walt and Jeff's site, so whatever they say goes. But I do think that people that care about Cedar Point are pretty much the same people that care about Cedar Fair as a whole. It's often hard to talk about the Point without addressing the entire chain.
Like Tim, I do think CF needs to watch out about Six-Flag-izing their parks. Maybe the Paramount licensing will have to go from the five new units, and Snoopy brought in. That may be a necessity. But too much homogeneity is not a good thing. It's bad enough there are two Eiffel towers and three Italian Jobs in the chain; do there have to be twelve Woodstock Expresses?
My author website: mgrantroberts.com.
Italian job Sucks....would be nice for Wonderland to have a coaster thats higher then 150ft
CoMaToKeD
It's one of those parks where you go a couple of times and that's about it. If they were actually to put in something worth riding I'd think about going again. Hopefully Cedar Fair will address that.

Sorry if this sounds stupid, but when was a Power Tower last built for an amusement park?
When did Marineland build their drop ride? I thought it was in the last three years or so.
My author website: mgrantroberts.com.
That was within that past 2-3 years I believe. Believe me, with Canadian cable television plays those commercials over and over again. Everyone loves Marineland! Actually, their Dragon Mountain roller coaster was my first roller coaster, when I was about 8 or 9.
We'll miss you MrScott and Pete
Marineland is one bizarre park. I mean, I get that it's sort of on the European model of parks. But everything is so unbelievably spread out. It has the opposite problem of Geauga Lake.
I actually like Dragon Mountain. A bit rough, and it's weird how it never seems to get more than twenty feet off the ground. But the layout is splendid, and I love the theming inside the mountain.
