What is your favorite haunt?

I like all of them, but I think I'm going with Zombie High School as my favorite. It's really nicely done and the theming and screamsters did a great job there. The other ones were great as well. One of the screamsters at Eden Musee really looked like wax. The makeup department did a great job there. Eternity Infirmary was great as well, but I think they let too many people in and that kind of broke the immersion and scare factor, but it was at the end of the night and they maybe just wanted to get everyone through. Eerie Estate and Hexed were also nicely done. It was hard to see in there, my one friend even went the wrong way and bumped a few walls.

I've only been through Hexed this year, but in past years I've always liked Corn Stalkers.

On a side note, when I went through Hexed two weeks ago, I'm almost positive they intentionally split up me and my friend up about 1/3 of the way through. She was sent straight with the group ahead of us, then the screamster said "you're about to walk right into meeeee" then sent me off to the right, totally alone. Neither of us had the skeleton key either. This left me very unhappy, and sure enough my friend was out of the house long before I was.

Carnevil and Cut Throat Cove(Terror Island) are my favorites

Best Haunted House: Zombie High (Eerie Estate is a close 2nd)
Best Scare Zone: Blood on the Bayou

Since I scare pretty easy, it's easy for me to jump out of my skin at times, but I don't care. The best one that I enjoyed the most so far was Erie Estates. I have to admit, that was me that kept going the wrong way and running into walls...lol. They should turn a couple lights on in those haunts for people like me. ;)

Blood on the Bayou lost major points for not fixing the mouth-opening juju monster thingy on the wall.

Excellent show. I prefer creepy over 'shake a can and scare you' type of stuff.

Erie Estate, love the classic haunted house stuff. Close second would be Eden Musee, it actually got my girlfriend to hyperventilate. She doesn't do wax figures/mannequins. The moving mannequin "looked" and pointed at her...oh boy, that scream was hilarious.

Favorite outdoor haunt is the Screamworks zone. They come flying from all over the place with those kneepads on, sliding right in front of people, scaring the crap out of them. Plus...Trash Can Dude at the one end by Cornstalkers. He is hilarious. I like to sit and watch him scare people with the car-horn trash can.

Eden Musee isn't my favorite haunt, but it has one of my favorite rooms, as the Strobe Light walkthrough with the hanging white sheets absolutely terrifies me for some reason. I always hold my breath when going through that room.

My favorite in the past was Werewolf Canyon leading into Fright Zone. I'm not a steampunk fan so I didn't care for the Screamworks much. Eerie Estate is always nice, but a little small. CarnEvil was fun because a lot of my friends hate clowns.

I am spoiled though, I do go to places like Mansfield Reformatory and Factory of Terror each year. They set the bar a bit higher than Cedar Point will do with their Haunts.

Fright Zone cira 07-09

Slaughterhouse is pretty good. Lots of potential there. Zombie High was really, really good tonight though.

Lots of aggression and surprise.

Question: does CarnEvil still semi exist? I don't know how Fear-y Tales is but based on some recent Instagram posts I've seen, I've noticed some props and screamsters from CarnEvil on the Gemini midway (not Camp Snoopy). Looking forward to a good review of the new haunts and scare zones tonight!

I got a fast lane to all the haunted houses last year from Tony, and I can say that I really enjoyed Zombie High and Hexed.

My favorite haunt in the past was always Terror Island but Toy Factory and Carnevil were always the big 3 to me but I think the best active haunt is Cut Throat Cove just because I have such a great friendship with all the workers there and That boom noise still gets me in Cut Throat Cove but my favorite house is Eternity Infirmary with Slaughterhouse close behind!

Slaughterhouse reminds me of all the best parts of the old UR Dade house. The gore, slatted walls, and intensity. I'm a fan.

In regards to Carnevil, I am not sure how much truth there is to it, but the ride ops on MS were talking about how the clowns were allowed to chase you throughout the park. It sounded strange but I did see a group of clowns just randomly roaming the midways outside of scare zones (well after the time they should have been in their haunt).

I have to say that I enjoyed Feary-Tales. I was incredibly surprised when a zombified version of Snow White came up to me as well as other characters from not only Disney tales but childhood stories. Is it safe to assume that Cedar Point (Fair) is paying copyright fees to those whose characters they use?

Disney doesn't own the copyrights to Snow White as the character belongs to Grimm. Regardless though, an easy way around any copyright like that is to alter the character. If Cedar Point doesn't call her Snow White and the character appears differently than in the story of Snow White, then there probably isn't any issue with copyright infringement. Same would go for any fairytale character. Kinda of like how you see a halloween costume at a store. The title of the character might be "Snow Princess" but it is clearly Snow White on the packaging.

The idea of having a twisted take on fairytale characters isn't new at all. Universal, Knott's, and I believe Busch have all used this idea before and countless other haunts I am sure.
