Maverick will be the first coaster at Cedar Point to be filled with sand.

Ooh, too bad. I guess we shoulda brought my mom's van this year, it was used to transport sand earlier this year. ;)

Ah, well, if its either her van or Maverick... Mavie can have that title!

If you check out the December 8th photo update on the Maverick page, the photo caption does say that they were filling the supports with sand, and that they use the caps to get the sand in there.
