What happened to the Skeeball machines?

Although I have not had a chance to get to the park since Media Day, a park goer has informed me that the Skeeball machines in both arcades are now gone!!!

He tells me that they where there, at least, on opening day. Is another oldie but goodie leaving the park for good? The fact that other games are in it's place, I would think so. :-(

Anyone hear anything about this?

The skeeball machines were removed from the Gemini arcade, but I think the ones in the main arcade are still there. They were replaced with a mix of games that were moved from Jitney and the main arcade. Not sure why, but I was disappointed.

The skeeball machines in the Gemini Arcade were the funnest to play (in my opinion). This is sad news to me.

I think they've been gone from the Frontier Town arcade for a few years too. That's unfortunate.

Very unfortunate. I noticed that the Skeeball games in Frontier Town were gone opening day last season (even though there is still a sign saying they're there.) All have been removed from the Gemini Arcade, and most have been removed from the main arcade. The only ones left in the main arcade give you tickets...not as cool as winning an instant prize in my opinion. Too bad. That was my favorite game, something I played since I was a kid.

I would love to have one of the older machines from the Gemini arcade. It's too bad the park doesn't charity auction things like this.

If all the players are ready...at the sound of the bell, ROLL EM!

I too would love to purchase one of the Skeeball machines from the Gemini Arcade. I wonder where something like that ends up?

The 25c machines are still there, it's the 50c Skeeball-for-prizes that are completely gone this year. Most of the 25c ones have issues too (I've had multiple machines eat quarters this year already).

It's a shame, I used to love playing the for-prizes ones. It's pitiful how many tickets you can potentially get for the 25c ones (seriously, 180 points for 3 tickets?).

WHere do they end up? Back with the owner. Correct me if I am wrong, but CP (and other entertainments) don't really own any of those, They are vending companies that enter into rental agreements with the companies that use them, including what percentage income takes they will have.

The newer games at CP are leased from vendors (I could be wrong but am pretty sure they use BMI Gaming for the lease) but Cedar Point does own a lot of older and antique games, including Ski Ball machines.

I know a bunch of years ago they sold a bunch of the Ski Ball machines from CP. They sold them to locals (a place I used to work had a few) and a bunch to collectors. Most likely they advertised in some trade magazine for them (this was before EBay.)

Now if they were to get rid of any they would most likely just strip them down to parts for the ones they still have, or sell them online on EBay. BTW anyone know what happened to the Paddle-wheel Excursion boats that were on EBay recently?

I could be wrong, but I thought I saw one of the paddle wheel boats in the Mantis infield covered up with camo.

Most likely, they kept one for Blood on the Bayou and the access for the lagoon is near mantis so that is probably the one for that.
