Was at Cedar Point yesterday with my niece and we rode something like 21 rides in ten hours. Great day but I have a question. Since it was built Magnum was always one of my favorite rides. This was my first time on it in 2 years and unless I am crazy it is not the same ride anymore. Seemed way more bumpy then it used too and my niece agreed with me and after one ride we had no desire to ride it again. Have others noticed a change in Magnum over the years?
It just depends. I don't find it any different. The seat matters, the condition of the wheels you're sitting over matter, the weather matters... it's always different.

Magnum has not changed as far as I can tell. Compared to the more modern B&M and Intamin rides, I suppose you could think of Magnum as a little on the bumpy side. But, I think that is what gives it it's character.
I've always looked at Magnum as a steel version of a wood out and back coaster. It has an out of control and a little of a rough and tumble feel, but that is what makes it a great ride.
I'd rather be in my boat with a drink on the rocks,
than in the drink with a boat on the rocks.
My latest trip August 21th, I rode it in the morning and it was probally the smoothest out of all my rides. If you want a smooth ride make sure you're not in Car 1 Row 3 I made that mistake once.

I don't know if this has ever happened to any one, but it really hurts. When you get the seat belt buckle between your leg and the lap bar. when you hit the bunny hills, and get air time, your leg slams into the lapbar and seat belt buckle. Ouch! :(

Man - what a bunch of wussies! :)
Not a wuss I was just surprised. Like I mentioned at the beginning of the thread. We went on 21 rides yesterday and 18 of them were roller coasters. One we didnt ride was Mean Streak because I just find it too bumpy to be fun. We did ride Millenium 4 times and dragster twice and I could live on those all day
I do think it all depends on where you sit. Where did you sit Steve? If you sat in the back, that will explain the roughness. My first ride was a bit rough. But my second 2 rides wern't as bad. They wern't as smoothe as MF. But that's why I love Magnum. :)

I think we were near the middle because we usually go for the shortest lines. The Magnum line was a free for all though because they did not limit the amount of people who jammed in to the building to wait for a ride. You could barely tell where the lines were
All I have to say is give it another try. Like I said, my first ride on Magnum this year was a rough one too. I almost didn't want to ride it again. But I made myself. And I am glad that I did, because the last 2 rides were very much enjoyable.:)
