What ever happened to the Park Cam?

Anyone know?

Seeing as how it looked the same every time you looked at it, what was the point?

Why always the ******** responses to the simple questions? I just wanted to know if it was gone for good. I liked to see what the weather was like up there. *** This post was edited by Jeff on 7/13/2000. ***
Well the Millennium Force webcam was always the same picture unless they moved it to show other phases of construction. What they need to get is a real player webcam. That way you can actually see things moving.

Mantis How Much Can You Stand?
They need to mount it back on the WildCat.
They need one thas like IOA, or sea worlds cam of shamu. that takes a pic. every 30 sec.

Mount it on the Space Spirle

If you mount it on the Space Spiral, you'll get the same problem they had with its previous location.

If they want a web cam, they should put it on the MF station or on the Sky Ride station facing Raptor. Something that produces an interesting picture.

I agree with you parrothead. Jeff, it's time you and your clones revisit your "********" attitude. He had a legit question. This "holier than thou" attitude on this site is just rediculous sometimes.

About the webcam, I always felt that a 360 degree tour of CP would be better, instead, for people thinking about visiting, especially people out of the state.

It is a legit question that had been asked in 3 other threads in the past month.

I can understand to a point what you're saying about attitude. Let's face it ... everyone here fashions themselves as Cedar Point "experts" Some of those titles are earned, others are imagined. Sometimes egos clash.

Given the quality of the web cam when it existed and the fact that the question has been repeatedly addressed, I think Jeff's answer was equally as valid.

Have to agree with the others...some responses to simple questions are just plain rude. I think a point can be made without the attitude. If a CP employee responded to a question of yours in this manner I'm sure you would not be amused so lighten up.

20 straight years and still going
I'm sorry for posting a question that has been asked before. I don't read ever word of every thread on this site, or any others for that matter. I don't visit as often as I used to. Part of the reason being that there is too much attitude.
Let's face it, there are so many new posts. If you miss even a week or two, you can miss a thread and end up revisitng a topic. That does not mean we need the attitudes. We are only discussing a fun amusement park and everybody should be welcome to join in as long as profanity is not used. None of us are experts...none!

Parrothead...don't be sorry. Do you ever read about anyone apologizing for their rude comments? A lot of people feel the way you feel. We only come back becuase of our love for CP.

Which brings up the need for a FAQ ...

If you think that my response is "attitude," you're reading in to things a bit. Actually, reading in to things a lot. If you interpret that as negative attitude, and it bothers you that much, I respectfully invite you to visit another site instead of this one.

My response was critical of the camera, not the question.

Remember to keep the naughty words to yourself, please.

It would be cool if they would put a cam up on some of the lifts of the Coasters. Of course CP would have to put a disclaimer about not being able to control what happens on the cam, it would still be cool.

And as far as the argument, can't we all just get along?

Well I hope it wasnt me coming off being rude..I DID think it was a still...you always looked at it and nothing ever changed.I thought CP was putting one over on us and putting up a still photograph.

CP should get a web camera with user controls that allow zooming and panning. These are quite common now, VW had an excellent camera at the Detroit Auto Show a couple of years ago that could be moved and zoomed. It was great fun to play with.
They have one of those user-controlled cameras in place for the construction of the 2 new stadiums here in Pittsburgh. It works very well too!! I would love to see one of those on the CP site, but it would make the days until my next CP trip seem too far away.
