What ever happen to....

.. the Bayern Kurve that used to be at CP?? Or am I getting my childhood park visits confused? I thought there was one at CP at one point.

That and I miss the Rotor over where Schwabinchen now lives...

There was one. It was one of my favorite rides when I was a child. I think that people here have said that it was taken out the same year that they got Avalanche Run since both were bobsled rides (doesn't make sense to me since they were completely different). I wish that they would get one back. I'm crossing my fingers for something like that when and if the boardwalk happens.

That's what I thought but I don't see any mention of it being opened or removed in the HISTORY area...

If I remember correctly, the Bayern Kurve sat adjacent to the Schwabinchen in the present site of the Wildcat (the 2nd one), which at the time was located where Disaster Transport is today. It's too bad that the Bayern Kurve's vanished. They were loads of fun, looked great, esp. at night, and they really hauled butt. Far faster than rides like Matterhorn and Himalaya. From what I understand, they were very high maintenance for a ride of that magnitude, in many ways comprable to a roller coaster. You figure, there were 16 cars with load bearing and lateral guide wheels (and possibly under wheels), track, structure, and those pesky hydralic mechanisms that raised and lowered the cars from flat to banked. The only ones I know of still in existance are at Kennywood and Canada's Wonderland. Speaking of former ride locations, didn't the Matterhorn and Super Himalaya orignially reside on the present site of Disaster Transport before the 2nd Wildcat (the original one located where Oceana and Ocean Motion are today)?
