What does it take to get into CP's planning and design department?

Does Cedar Fair go to and recruit people? Or are these people just some very lucky and intelligent engineers who happened to put in a good resume and were lucky enough to get an interview? I'm just curious because hopefully, after I am finished with college, I can one day work in that department. Does each Cedar Fair park have its own planning and design department? Or is the one at Cedar Point the planning and design team for the whole company?

It's easier to get into the Navy Seals. Mainly because the department is small, like 8 to 10 people. Even smaller if you are actually talking about the people who sit at a desk and design. Now you are talking about maybe 3 or 4 people. Those people typically do not leave those jobs once they get them so that is the reason it is so hard to land that gig. But the best way to do it is by starting at the park now as a seasonal and working your way up by making friends.

The department at Cedar Point does a lot of work for the other parks. Most of the parks will still have a graphics guy who can crank out a new sign if one is needed asap but the other parks do not have a full lineup of designers and architects. Knott's however does use some form of designers for their Haunt but that is mostly show related design. Seriously though, start working at the park doing anything you can now.
