I don't know how CP or other parks do with the trains that roll back. I might say they use some sort of a small crane. Would any body else know?
Honestly, I think it depends on the coaster, and where the trains rollback. Correct me if I am wrong, but I don't believe rollback happen all that often. (Dragster excluded).

Spending time at Applebees after Closing Day with Steph, Scotty, Jason, Ralph, Ben, Betsy, Tony, Brandon, and Tami: PRICELESS
WT not rolling back would be a problem.
TTD they can reverse the train back to the launch position and relaunch.
Wildcat can be pushed by a maintenance guy or a few thanks to the antirollbacks on virtually every hill. I seen a cable that is connected to a winch for the last hill with the brake on a slant.
I happened to be in the park in 2002 the day after MF rolled back. I watched maintenance winch a train through the last overbanked turn. They used pulleys straped onto the track to guide the cable. They had to move the pulleys every couple yards where the turn gets very tight. I saw a train on Gemini roll back that same day.
Another method they might use is removing the trains from the track and putting them on in a transfer area. This might be useful if Mean Steak or Millennium Force rolls back before the second hill. It would be extremely difficult to return the train to the station at that point.
Edit: Bad habit. I am glad I'm not an english major. *** Edited 12/7/2004 1:20:19 PM UTC by ForgottenEE***
You didn't "seen" anything. I think you mean you "saw."

Yah I know that rollbacks on coasters don't happen alot. But it would be a sight to see them pulling the train over a hill if that happen.
Yes, it "dose". Pay more attention in school and appear less ignorant in public. Soon to be famous words that I just coined.

Doesn't a coaster, such as Gemini, have to "warm up" in the morning? I heard that Mantis rolled back right before the mid course brakes, and several maintenance personnel attempted to hoist the train up the track with some type of cable.

I've got a picture somewhere of maintainence people winching MF's blue train through the last turn after it rolled back in May 2002. It was quite a sight to see.
And then one day you find ten years have got behind you
No one told you when to run, you missed the starting gun
No story, it just rolled back. Air temp, wheel temp, wheel tire material, whatever. It just didn't have enough energy to make it all the way around.
I'd rather be in my boat with a drink on the rocks,
than in the drink with a boat on the rocks.

More like not enough weight to sustain it's momentum. That's why they use the weights in the cars when they test it in the mroning. Without the weights you'd be more likely to see a MF train roll back.
I think the more appropriate correct term to be using here is 'valleying'. Mean Streak has done this many times as well as Gemini.

It was tough trying to push Jr. Gemini after it 'valleyed'. They had to get cranes and everything;).

Smoking Marijuana isn't a bad thing or even a good one, like everything else, its what you make of it.
I've heard storys that Gemini's second hill had to be shorten in construction due to the train not making it over. At the beginning of the season the morning testruns tend to run very slow. Every once in a while like, maybe once every few years, a train doesn't make. But so what about Gemini, Mean Streak, and MF, that Wicked Twister ride is a rollback machine. Cedar Point must hate taking care of that thing. :)
