I am thinking about doing a project like this. Only of course in true CP style I would plan on making it bigger and better (probably taller lift hill, Large Loop, batwing element, and possible barrel roll). I have a layout in mind. I will try to get it up here as soon as i figure out how to do it.
I'm thinking of using a rubber tubing for the track and probably wooden rods for the supports, and probably the same kind of brakets for to connect the two.
Just looking for advice or ideas. Thanks in advance for your help.
the basic idea of the layout is a lift hill 180 turn then a 70 degree drop into a loop then after that is a hill into the possible barell roll. down hill then back up to the cobra roll that goes from right to left across the line for the station. then a couple bunny hills by the station 180 turn under the lift hill then more bunny hills untill it comes time to turn into the station

Good luck with that. Back when I was younger I used to try to make coasters out of K'NEX, and my main problem was that the train was too light and could barely make it over any hills. What I would recommend is that before you even start construction if you're going to take this seriously, take accurate measurements and do calculations instead of just putting the track together. There's no worse feeling that doing all that hard work and then having the train not clear the hill.
Have fun with the project and make sure you post pictures/videos!

Yea i am allready working on heights of the lift hill, loop, etc.
And i'm deffinatly going to be using the physics i learned in class last year (ooo blasphemy) to make sure the car is definatly going to make it around the track with plenty of speed to spare
I hope you have deep pockets, cause building something like that doesn't come cheap.
You could always make a custom CoasterDynamix kit, they're expensive too, but they save a lot of hassle in there.
Yea I looked into coasterdynamix kits and thought that if I'm going to order something like that I might as well build my own and not be wieghed down by limited parts and so forth. I know you can order extra parts but they are like $5 to $15 without shipping.
Basically I would rather have the pride in saying "I buit this myself" instead of saying "I orderd it off CoasterDynamix and customized the layout"
When will they let the true fans design the real thing? Of course, then we'd have sech insane stuff as an "inverted MF" or a looping Dragster.
