What do you look forward to most at Cedar Point- other than the obvious?!?

I was just thinking about our annual trip to the park and started to think about how much I love waking up early in the morning before Camper Village and the park "wake up" to sit outside and drink coffee! There is just something about the quiet that is neat in the morning versus the noise of the day when the park is operating.

So other than the obvious of riding rides, what do you look forward to most on your trips to CP?

Waking the kids (6yr old boy/girl twins) up at 5am and telling them where we are going! The reaction is priceless! Thats one of the many things we look forward too!

When you visit CP, visit my Mill, est. 1835

The best surprise I ever received was when my dad showed up at school a few weeks ago and told me we were going to CP for GateKeeper media day and OSU Day! I'm sure my reaction is what he was looking forward to the most.

The live shows --- by the way I don't think "riding the rides" is the obvious -- there are LOTS of people that go to Cedar Point that never ride anything, except for maybe the train or skyride...

But for me, its live shows.

Getting my RV set up in camper village, having a beer or two, and walking into the park while hearing the chain lift on Magnum, which is like sweet music to my ears.

Also, I really enjoy getting to CV on Halloweekends around 1PM, sitting outside and having a drink, and everything is quiet...until TTD starts testing around 3PM. With the park silent, you can really hear the launch mechanisms in action.

I think the best day I ever spent at the Point was when my niece was 5.The others went off to ride and I spent most of the day with her in kiddiland. She never knew what ride to run to next. We rode the turnpike cars so much I thought my leg would fall off from holding the gas pedal down. I kept yelling she was going to hit a tree. She is 24 and still drives like she will hit a tree. Rode the train so many times I said I'd never ride it again--I do! That day created a bond that is still intact. Those are the memories that last a life time.

Sitting in the comfy chairs in the smoking sections right outside Mean Streak. Watching people abuse themselves is priceless.

Hearing the roar of Raptor and the VROOM of Dragster's launch. Plus just looking at everything. Basically I look forward to the entire atmopshere like someone already said. No matter how many times I go to the park, I love just walking around and soaking everything in.

The sound of machinery at rest after closing. Walking along the boardwalk at night and listening to the silence is fascinating. Watching the maintenance crews do their duties. Sitting on the beach, smoking a cigar and drinking a few beers, taking it all in. The time spent with family and friends. The overall Cedar Point experience, whether in the park or at the resorts, it does not matter.

I haven't stayed at Camper Village in decades because I am now stuck tent camping. However, as a kid I used to love hearing the train whistle after waking up and the sound of the magnum taking its first test run of the day :) Good memories!

When i wanna get away from the coasters for a little bit i love repeat riding the train. Boneville never gets old! My favorite scene there is the one where the skeleton is hopping over the fence while getting shot at by the father after he trying his luck with the daughter.

I actually enjoy walking towards Mean Streak, and looking over at the people sitting in the smoking section, abusing themselves!

Memories of my year working there...lots of good stuff when going through that park. I mean those rides were like our own children to an extent. Plus I was working corkscrew most of the season and it was the year Ron Toomer died. Kinda humbling seeing people ride a ride on one of it's big anniversary years-ish and the guy who built this and other rides in the park made such an imprint on the place. Pretty cool stuff man

The thing i like most about going to CP is i get to go to Knoebels and Kennywood (my favorite parks) on my way there!:)

Driving on to the causeway and getting that first glimpse of Millennium Force!

Walking through an empty park on a Halloweekends Friday afternoon to go fill my zone's water jugs is one of my favorite times to be there. It's like the calm before the storm.

Another thing i like to do is watch the parks night life evolve. I absolutely love standing in line for Millennium Force when the sun goes down and you can see the lighting package on the lift hill. Then after the ride you can walk the frontier trail and see it from different angles. The nightlife of the front of the park has also totally changed in the last two years. It makes me wish the park was open later on a regular basis.

I look forward to hearing ride ops at Wicked Twister and see if their countdown and launch are timed good (I know, I'm a dork when it comes to that ride). I also look forward to Famous Dave's or TGIFridays on the beach. Within the past couple years I've been looking forward to Soak City too especially on hot days.
