What do you listen to?

Some of us not so lucky CP'ers have a LONG drive to and from the Po!nt (like me)
and even those who are lucky to live close---
what is your favorite thing to listen to during your car trip(s)??
For me personally-
for the trip there I love to listen to Static X-
Rob Zombie-Fear Factory-Korn-motivation music!
for the trip home pretty much the same only to attempt to keep me awake!

METALLICA! Fortune, fame, mirror pain, gone insane, but the MEMORY REMAINS! Throw a little Megadeth and Ozzy in there and I'm ready to ROCK!

God bless 89x since the departure of our beloved The End in Cleveland.

Republica/Ready to Go (UK Mix, dammit), Luscious Jackson, Garbage, Nine Inch Nails, Jewel (to ease road rage), Smash Mouth, Lords of Acid, Alannis, various mix-discs I've made... that's what I had the last few trips anyway. I'm sure there'll be something new by spring, because I despise listening to stuff in the car older than my undies.

I can't believe that after all these years of putting out the same record over and over again that people are STILL into that band.

hey jeff you know of any other artists that have toured for 2 1/2 years straight..... they give everything they have to the fans you should go see them sometime. only band along with aerosmith and vh to make it through the glam rock of the late 80's and the seattle sound of the early 90's to the 1 hit wonders of today 75% of the artist you named will not be around in 5 years
Allman Brothers Live at the Fillmore East, The Stones Exile on Main St. and any Dead tape from 1968-1971 (soundboard only of course!)
And I forgot to add: THANK GOD 75% of the above "artists" named won't be around in 5 years. Hopefully they'll drop off quicker than that.
Really Jeff, how many bands do you know of that their lead singer and guitarist had his arm almost blown off by a 30 foot tall pyro? And still sing for the rest of the tour! Hey CP_genius and adrenalinejunky: OBEY YOUR MASTER!

c'mon guys, there's more to life than metal....how about all those great Beatles songs...they outsell EVERYBODY, even now. and the Who, probably the first metal band EVER...still around, still touring. let's see..Pete Townshend is almost completely deaf and he STILL plays. survived worse things than 30-foot pyros AND you can understand his words. AND if it wasn't for him, some of you guy's "Guitar heroes" wouldn't even be playing. he's the TRUE guitar god!!! metal! yuck!!! and as far as i'm concerned, give me a good, solid 80's mix and i'm happy. talk about lift your spirits music...

I get really bored with bands that put out the same stuff over and over. If Metallica wants to tour non-stop, good for them... it has nothing to do with whether or not I like them. I certainly wouldn't put them in the same class as Aerosmith. I saw Aerosmith in '93 and couldn't believe the old guys could still rock... not to mention continue to evolve, something Metallica has not been able to do. But hey... put out the same stuff every few years and stick to the formula and you get a new generation of teen male fans every time. I outgrew them in high school ten years ago.

There are no "super bands" these days if you don't count top 40/CHR groups. Even those who showed promise, like Smashing Pumpkins, have disappeared after lame records (perhaps because Billy "Uncle Fester" Corgan decided to produce his own records after Butch Vig started Garbage). Sometimes there great performance artists break out and surprise us... like Barenaked Ladies, Jewel, etc. Still waiting for KMFDM, er, MDFMK to break out.

There's too much out there to listen to to get stuck on one band who settles into repetitive mediocrity.

Who's in for the Lords of Acid show next month at the Odeon in Cleveland?

You are fairly correct Jeff, but I think Metallica changed completely after Black. Sorry to change this topic into a discussion over Metallica.;)

I always listen to this mix CD I made of most of the songs on the Mantis/PT video wall. =) I also put some songs on there that remind me of CP every time i hear them so I can listen to it during these looooong winters! =)
