What do people think?

When I look at the new pictures that virtualmidway.com posted, the tower is huge, and it beats MF's height for sure. But does it look kinda dumb with just 1 huge tower smack dab in the middle, without anything else around it. Just my oponion.

Thanks

Cedar Point WHAT!!!

Yeah I was thinking the same thing, I think they should have more than just one humongus tower for the ride, mabey even some overbanked turns would be nice, it just seems like the ride is going to go up super fast and then down super fast and its done. And if you look at the park, you normally notice mf right? well you'll notice this thing, and mf will look like....a tiny mf!

haha.. i dont think MF will EVER look tiny. Granted this ride is going to be 100+ feet taller, but its one tower no more than 50 feet across. MF has a gargantuan lift hill and its 3rd hill is still bigger than magnum (right?). I still think MF is the more impressive coaster for the eye.

These pics just got me twice as stoked!

Im assuming it will grow on us, it might look odd right now but when we get shot up it we will learn to love it!
I've said in the past, I think CP is going to fool us all and put in overbanked turns, bunny hops and other roller coaster elements. Just because you don't see the construction for them now, doesn't mean they won't be built during the next 4 months ( JAN - APRIL). Look at that huge tower they built and say to yourself, do they want to put all the time, effort and materials to blast you up over 400 feet, give the coaster all of that POTENTIAL ENERGY, only to stop it at the bottom of that huge structure?

Maybe Not!

see ya at the point........

MF's third hill is 23 feet shorter than Magnum's lift hill.

It grew on me, or more correctly, I at least understand it, when I picture Magic Mountain. Now both parks will have one HUGE tower that does nothing more than go up and down.

Ryan, have you seen the tower in person. I was at CP second week of October when 4 catwalks was installed. After seeing the new pics on Virtual Midway, IMO this new ride will dwarf MF and totally dominate the CP skyline given its location in the center of park.

I also think the ride would be more impressive (at least visually) if there were some overbanks like Xcelerator.

In another thread that was closed, a certain persons posts where deleted from that thread. In that persons threas was a site that would be sorta like a competitor to this site. I will not put on the site cause I dont want to get booted like that guy did but this was off that website "Construction was really picking up near the Power Tower end of the site, as numerous new (since closing day) footers have appeared. " This was as of 12/4 and they got this information from an aerial view somehow, they also have numerous pictures to make me believe that this is a true statement. Maybe just Maybe these footers may be for the rest of the ride that most of you are saying will not happen. They also commented that the parking lots are empty but we all know there is more track so I assume the deleveries are not complete. If they take a break for x-mas that lasts till 1/6/03 then that still leaves them like 3.5 months to build and then test. They have only been building the actual ride for a little over 3 months, its very possible that this isnt the end, and I dont care what the people who dont believe say cause you cant change my opinion!
What do people think??

I think they are thinking too much relax and it will arrive in its own sweet time. and then the fun begins:)

Wow, and I thought all the people who doubted the L-TH-B theory had seen the light. The newer footers near PT are for the station and the transfer tracks.

People need to understand that CP knows about their limited space, and apparently, they are now trying to continue their trend of record breaking rides while not using a lot of space. WT and #16 are both examples of this.

I wonder if CP ever considered increasing the size of the park by building onto landfill set in the lake ?
Cedar Point doesn't own Lake Erie. I'm pretty positive they wouldn't be able to expand "by building onto landfill set in the lake."

From what I gathered from that mess of a post is that you still think that it may not be L:TH:TW:B. Well, there is a plethora of evidence showing that it will indeed be that. The most obvious is that there is an insanely long brake run after the drop.

Hey and I thought you dont now nemore than me, oh wait thats right so dont act like since the majority agrees with something its right. They all agreed that slavery was the right thing back in the 1700's did that make it true and eventually they reversed there opinion. Dont be too positive about one way I see both ways being possibilities

..........What?

Okayyyyyy. Up until a day or two, there was no way it was 400 feet tall either.

Been there, done that, proven wrong, here's why. But I thought I told you that already.

What do people think other people are supposed think about their posts when they can't even post something that is at least halfway decipherable? This is really getting ridiculous. If some of you could write, maybe your opinions would be accepted a little more readily. Try typing something in a program that that has spell-check or grammar-check and then pasting it into the reply box. At least pull out a dictionary once in a while. And how reading what you've typed before you click the reply button. I'm sure some of you have some good thoughts, but who can tell?

-[In the 1900's Cedar Point had two rides in Lake Erie . The Sea Swing's & Water Toboggan. Does anyone know how far offshore there property lies ?

You did NOT just compare this silly coaster debate with the atrocity of slavery, did you?!?!

My thoughts exactly. Wow!
Do I really need to fire up the van-mounted, double-barreled, RamSnort InstaTorch cannon again? Why don't you hastily delete that stupid slavery reference and we'll just pretend that didn't happen?
