Calypso opened near the present day Ice Cream Parlor next to the Rotor. It was moved to the area adjacent to the Silver Dollar Cafe in 1965. In 1968, it was moved to an area adjacent to Sealand (currently the space occupied by the Aquatic Stadium). It was sent back to the area next to the Silver Dollar in 1970, the same year Tiki Twirl opened on the site formerly occupied by the Scamper. The ride was then relocated before the 1994 season to it's present day location.

Also, you might want to look at the Octopus as a FMR (frequently moved ride).

Mozilla may have taken two years to reach v1.0, but it is more stable and secure than IE will ever be.

There was a covering over the car at one time, as you can see in this picture.

Anyway, Octopus is the generic name for that type of ride if I am not mistaken, so it is an easy mix up.

the original Calypso appeared in the 1960's near the front gate by the Rotor and the French Frolic. i believe it was a used ride purchased from a world's fair, perhaps seattle. it was moved to the Silver Dollar corner taking the place of the Twister then finally to the beach midway where the dolphin/high dive stadium is now. (in 1969 the Silver Dollar corner had a stage featuring big name entertainment).
the Tiki Twirl was that same original Calypso repainted and remodeled, i would assume by the park. it was moved to the site of the Scamper and the tiki theme was meant to compliment the look of Jungle Larry's Safari. that same year (1970) CP purchased a new Calypso as part of their 10 ride improvement package, and both rides played the main midway thru the 70's. the new ride had considerable more flash than the original (see picture mentioned above) with a large centerpiece, the familiar hearts on the background, and yes, roofs over the cars. most of that flash is gone now, of course.
so the way i see it the original Calypso/Tiki Twirl had 4 different locations and the current calypso only 2.
the Super Himalaja also joined the line-up in 1970 and it originally sat behind the new Dodgem II building on the extended midway, near the Bayern Curve. it was moved to the beach area near the Jumbo Jet next to the Matterhorn. this was the same spot the Zugspitze (a similar ride) played in the mid 60's. the flash was removed when it was taken to it's long time home across from Gemini then finally to it's current spot behind Power Tower. so it has had 4 homes as well.
the Scrambler was present during my first visit to CP in 1962 and if it's the same model may be the most traveled ride of all. i'll have to put my mind to it.
