What Cedar Point NEEDS to get next:

So I just visited SF: Great Adventure this last weekend. I finally got my ride, or 2, on Kingda Ka. I have to agree with the majority of people's opinions and say that TTD is better. In my opinion, it's WAY better. I also got my first ride on a flying coaster. I used to think CP needed one of these, but after riding it, it's just a gimmick and not as exciting as one would think, however the pretzel loop was rather awesome.

Anyways, to get to the point of this topic, I was extremely surprised by El Toro. An Intamin pre-fab woodie is one ride CP is missing. I thought it was the best coaster at SFGA by a mile. Nothing came close to the excitement level as that ride. I feel that CP needs to get one of these things. I'll be praying in 2010 that they get one in 2011 because that would be amazing.

IIRC the higher ups made a pretty straight forward statement at a CoasterMania Q&A (2008 I believe) that they had no plans of building a Pre-Fab Woodie. So, even if they had changed their minds that day, you probably wouldn't see anything until at least 2013/2014.

Why are they so adamant about not getting one? All the
reviews seem to be overwhemingly positive.

They seem more interested in GCI, from what I've heard.

Brandon

If they're going to get a GCI, let's pray the quality has increased a lot in the last decade. The only GCI I've been on is Gwazi and that thing is painful. I'm actually a fan of Mean Streak, but another rough woodie would be a giant leap in the wrong direction for CP.

Ha! A fan of Mean Steak, calling Gwazi painful?

Gwazi is one of the only GCI's left that is running PTC trains. Also, it was one of their first installations. Gwazi is probably the last ride I would use to describe to someone how smooth their rides are. Their coasters aren't Pre-Fab smooth. But, their coasters are still smoother than probably 90% of the woodies out there.

I have been on el toro about a hundred times this year, and the ride never gets old. It has amazing airtime, it's smooth, and all the sudden changes in direction are amazing as well.

My vote would go for a plug and play as well.

what you've just said is one of the most insanely idiotic things I have ever heard.
Everyone in this room is now dumber for having listened to it.
I award you no points, and may God have mercy on your soul.

El Toro is amazing, and yes a prefab Intamin would be a great addition to CP. A lot better than a CGI imo.

But, as far as flyers being gimmicks, the one you rode may have been, but Tatsu at SFMM was absolutely incredible.

TedFuzz. No longer manually signing posts. Too bad. =(

Plug-n-Play = get your ass stapled to death. I fit in MF & TTD. I have to be absolutely crushed to get into Toro. If you think people were complaining about the seat belts on MF, then put in a PnP and see what kind of comments you'll get.

We don't really need another wish list thread, do we?
