I will be there braving the weather. Weather.gov is calling for Storms but knowing Cedar Point and Ohio in general, weather can change in a second.
Adam, I think I'll be joining you for the running to Dragster. Hopefully my Opening Day luck comes back and supplies another rollback or maybe a triple again! :)

Interesting. I've never heard of them before. What makes them more accurate than TWC?
Although I don't doubt that they really are more accurate, because TWC has been 0/7 for my local weather in the last week.

http://www.weather.gov/ is the National Weather Service, so I usually think they are pretty accurate. Plus if you type Cedar Point, Ohio weather for the peninsula shows up.

^^Not toooo much. I had a couple of instances where the hourly forecast didn't change 4 days out and was almost spot on come the day it was forecasting. But we shall see what really happens. I've seen HUGE storm systems literally break apart and never touch the peninsula. I can never explain it aside from there being a force field around CP. :)
Hopefully the shield is up and running for the weekend. :D

We definitely need a miracle for nice weather on Saturday. Hopefully the weather cooperates a little so we can get some rides in. Stupid weather, I wish it would have done this activity now so that way it would be nice during opening weekend.
That weather force field phenomenon surrounding the park has always puzzled me as well. Hopefully it's in full effect on Saturday. :)
I've found TWC.com to be just as accurate as any other weather forecast service. Which is to say, not very accurate beyond 2 days.

I really hope OC has a longer ride cycle this year, esp since they relocated it.....:)
This opening day I plan on looking forward to more rollbacks on TTD ;), then i'll worry about windseeker.....later....
Part of the problem with forecasts is explaining complicated weather situations with an icon, percentage, or a few words. If it's going to be sunny and 80, that's easy to describe. If the forecast says, "Showers likely, chance of rain 60%," it gives no indication as to the 30 variables that went into that.
That's why I like to read the forecast discussion. If you can get through the technical language, you can get a much better understanding of what they think is going on - and how much their confidence is in their own forecast.
This weekend's forecast is a good example. There appears to be uncertainty, but they seem to think the pattern will be off-and-on. Each time the forecast is updated, those uncertainties will become more clear, but there's no reason to believe right now there won't be plenty of dry periods.

Now how many of you are actually going to ride my ride this season. I know coaster mania is big for all the big thrills, but as for mine...It WAS a record breaker 35 years ago :D
I would but........i am now too tall for that ride, i get scrunched into the seat and if i do not sit in the front i have my knees up to my face!!! and on top of it i will make the cut barely due to the fact i am 6'4 to ride ANY of the coasters
Being a Ride Warrior is just not a job!
It's a way of life!!!
I have ridden the all the coasters at K.I. and C.P. that i have lost count!!!!! and it is not the amount of times i have ridden, it is just the joy of riding them for me!!!!
I just heard this morning that all things are clear for OM. It received it's State certification. Only thing that needs done is a light fixture to be installed above the ship.
Ride-on
Sweet. Anyone up for some Ocean Motion ITOT during CoasterMania?
