What are the chances?

There are retractable brakes on both the launch, and brake run. There are just many, mnay more on the launch. Don't believe me about the ones on the brake run? Look in construction archives, and you'll see a few pieces of flat track that have large rectangular gaps in them to accommodate these brakes.

I believe that these retractable brakes act the same way the retractables work on MF. They can be used as holding brakes when in the idle (raise) position.

What is most anticipated event of 2003? the debut of Dragster, the release of Metallica's new album, the release of Terminator 3, or the release of Matrix:Reloaded...tough call.

The train on MF is held in place by the kicker wheels on MF. The magnetic brakes by themselves would not prevent the train from moving if some force acted on it.

DELETED!

Which is exactly why the Wicked Twister train can be seen shimmying back and forth ever so slightly while unloading/loading :)

The kicker wheels also stop and start the train on the rocket coasters. They are in the station, the transfer tracks, and the turnaround on Xcelerator. The magnetic brakes stop at the transfer tracks.

And I can assure you that the magnetic brakes on Xcelerator in the brake run do go down. Not too many like the launch, but a few.
