What about 2 Roller Coaters for 2003?

Since my last thread was taken down, I will rephrase:

What do people think about the idea of adding more than 1 coaster for 2003?

I know its a long-shot, but was wondering if there is any chance of it happening.

Note: My last post was just about rumors that I heard, nothing less, nothing more. They were just rumors I hoped had at least a little truth to them.

I would say 2 new coasters for 2003 has about as good of a chance as this thread staying open.
Sam, with the announced removal of the flat ride this week, a small mouse or similar coaster seems plausable. I believe CP has the record for most rides in one park, and I dont know who the closest competitor is - so taking everything into account - replacing the flat ride with a small cost effective coaster does make sense given MM is starting construction on their 16th coaster.

Personally (IMO), I would have preffered quality over quantity. I have resigned myself that the new ride is going to be a L-TH-B, and am very disapointed - partly due to Jeff saying there would only be 1 disapointment from enthusiasts and the frequent comparisons to Xcelerator - length, ride time, and lack of elements are all big disapointments in my book.

The ride will certainly be thrilling, and of course I will ride it - but I suspect you will see me in line for MF - so yes, there will be one less person in line for Project 2003 (so there is no need to flame my personal opinion).

I always thought it would be interesting. And it fits too....

"We finished [Dragster] in December. Guess what? We are also adding a small coaster!"

"Sit down right, hold on tight, and enjoy your flight on Shivering Timbers!!"

But isn't "Dragster" supposed to be small?

Tom, I have to disagree. This new ride is going to be awesome. I don't think it is a disappointment. I mean, how could it be? You can bet I'm not tossing my season pass because it's "only" a L-TH-B ride. I'm more excitied to ride this new ride than I was to ride Millennium Force.

On the other hand, I agree that Cedar Point could use a small coaster such as a wild mouse or ArrowBatic. This would be a great addition for the younger ones. I don't see it happening, but it is possible. I wouldn't mind seeing a Huss ride or two.

If CP were to build a flyer, i can see it being as a small coaster. I live closest to X-flight at six flags and that by far is one of the shortest rides i have ridden, other than impulses. its up for debate i guess.

Thanks for the response MrCoaster - I probably should have pointed out I live in Boston. For me, if this ride were longer, I would buy a season pass like I did when Magnum and MF were built because those rides made the 16 hour drive compelling and more than one weekend visit a necessity.

My home park has one kick ass coaster (RoS), so I expect to make only one visit to CP next year - experience Project 2003 and then spend the bulk of my remaining time on MF, Raptor, and Mantis.

I would be stoked if CP were my home park and getting this monster - but for me - it just seems very anti climatic. I would prefer SFNE to get an Xcelerator clone than a Dragster clone (again, IMO).

Rumor mongering and wishlisting is the reason I closed the thread in the first place. Posting it again is a really good way to piss off me and the other moderators. If you expect to stick around, you shouldn't do it again.
