Ok, Tony & Tyler said that new webcams were being put in, with new locations. Where do you think they should have them?

#1 Millennium Force #2 Maverick #3 Top Thrill Dragster
I think it would be cool if they put a webcam right outside the exit of the launch tunnel on Maverick. Maybe in the future consider putting a cam on the front seat of one of the coaster trains and either see where the train is on the track or peoples reactions on certain parts of the ride.
3 Rollbacks- 2 back to back front row -dead serious- IT WAS THE SH*T!!!!!
Most of the time you would just see the end of the tunnel. You would be lucky to see a train out of the tunnel every 60 sec.
Let's Get Weird.
^^That would be an awsome idea. To put cams on one of the trains and see where it is on the track!! Good thinking BongKong! But yeah putting one at the end of the tunnel wouldn't be a good idea because you would have to be pretty lucky to see a train fly out of the tunnel every 60 sec. :)

Having a cam on a train seems highly unlikely. Especially facing riders.... Thats just asking for middle fingers, flashing, etc...
Are the current cams even wireless?

The camera on the train could be done (maybe not with the current cameras) judging by the video on Raptor. I assume the video is sent to the photo booth wirelessly, so they could definitely set up a camera. As far as middle fingers and flashing go, you have to remember a picture is taken once every 60 seconds. A person would either have to get very lucky or hold it up the entire ride. Either way, I doubt it would be much of a problem.

No Josh the cams are not wireless, but their location depends on the signal attenuation. (yes I know you cant wire a camera to a coaster)

The Idea of cameras on the coaster train seems absurd to me, because like Mikel30 said, the picture is only captured once every 60 seconds, and due to bandwidth restraints they cannot have live video. Which would be pointless because Cedar Point has an On ride video of every Coaster.
The only logical reason for doing this that I can see is, you could have a different angle of view depending on where the coaster is on the run.
Though if CP really wanted to they could put each camera on a motorized tripod and move it to a different position every hour or so. (of course more to break and more to worry about weather)

I wish they could put it on the top of dragster, the tunnel of maverick, and one of the bumpers of wicked twister. So if you look at what I put theres one in about every third of the park.

A new blog was just posted that reveals the locations of the Cams.

Looks like we can possibly watch Hot Summer Lights every night now... haha.

Well, I believe last summer (and I think Jason had a picture of it) someone did manage to flash the SkyRide camera, and it was caught on cam. Now, that's an even luckier shot than if you have a cam on your for an entire ride.

I really like the locations they have listed. I can only assume the one in Frontier Town will be pointing at some part of Maverick. The one that will be "near Hot Summer Lights" I imagine will be on top of the control booth, but I'm not sure which would be the better direction to point it at.

I think the hot summer lights one is a waste. I'd rather see them put one on top of the screen pointing back toward the front of the park.

Yeah, if it's on top of the control booth, all you can see if the screen. Speaking of the screen, isn't that thing motorized? Like, during the day, why isn't it all rolled up so you can see the train station and stuff. It's really a hideous eye sore during the day.
Really? Is it not taken down because they're lazy, or because it's not possible? Granted I didn't look in great detail, but when I glanced at the screen last time I was there, it looked like there were some pulleys or something at the bottom. I just figured they were to enable the screen to be lowered. What a poor design.
It's been a while since I looked closely at it, but I think the pulley's are just for raising a new screen, it is then attached to the sides of the frame. So, its not like they could push a button and have it come back down.

The screen came down last winter (or maybe it was the winter before, I can't remember) after the Lake Erie winds ripped it down. :)

There is a lift at the top of the screen for pulling up the truss/beam/whatever that has all of the fireworks on it. At the bottom on the sides there is a lift so that HSL people can get up to the catwalk near the bottom of the actual screen and load the fireworks.
I also noticed Tony and Tyler mentioned the ways in which guests could cool off, Snake River Falls and Soak City. (which in itself isn't saying much)
Perhaps they've been picking up on the comments about the lack of water rides...
And I completely agree about Hot Summer Lights. People want to see rides going, and want to look at the whole park, not watch a show through the webcam.
