How come on the CP site, the pics are always dark, and never really refresh..
Cedar Point = Life. <3
They refresh, but the ride is too fast for you to see, because it only refreshes every 60 seconds. You see the ride due to dumb luck of the capture. They should try live video but I believe that they would not have enough bandwidth to do that, with the large audience that would be pointbuzz ;).

Because it may not be a sunny day. and yeah like cedarpoint24/7 said they refresh every 60 seconds..if you want live action go to funcoast.com and go to funcam.

A great live stream is at Cleveland.com under Cedar Point Cam. It captures the intersection of Wildcat, Iron Dragon, and Power Tower and is located on top of the Snoopy Boutique.

Actually the cleveland cam is pointing out a window in the Coliseum.
Oh ok. Whatever.
I wish Cedar Point would put in more webcams showing some of the more popular rides as well as midways throughout the park. There's no reason they couldn't have 20 webcams, especially as the two they have now only update once a minute (meaning they are not using much of the park's upstream bandwidth). Seems kind of crazy they only have two cameras, with both of them being trained on a single ride. Also strange that a third-party (Cleveland.com) has a webcam of the main fairway and that one isn't even on Cedar Point's website.

Webcams must be cheap, if they can put in 20 of them.

Sounds like carolina_canes_8 is disagreeing with me. Does anybody with more credibility than me want to set him (her?) straight? It is pointing out of a window in the coliseum which is right next to the snoopy boutique, hence you can see snoopy in the cam.
^^"main fairway" - The only golf I've seen at CP is mini-golf. Am I missing something? ;)

I can't tell if you're being sarcastic or not, but webcams are pretty inexpensive overall. The most expensive aspect is the installation and getting internet access and power to wherever the camera is situated (or at least a long enough cable to a computer with network access). There are wireless webcams also. And of course the camera has to be able to withstand the elements. They'd also need to create a page that would let you select from multiple webcams, although they pretty much already have that in place.
Once setup, there is little cost in running them--a tiny bit of upstream bandwidth to upload images to their webserver every minute and electricity. And maintenance if a camera goes down and/or needs to be replaced.

I think CP could use some more webcams..like when they had one on the top of TTD and looking at the midway..they should have kept those also. along with the new Mavvie ones. *** Edited 6/4/2007 1:13:07 AM UTC by Jerreus***

That is the webcam Cedar Point uses... They look pretty expensive to me. However for a park that can spend 21 million on a roller coaster 599.00 should be nothing.

Nice cameras. Yeah, I'm sure they could definitely afford to add a few of these each year. Physical installation would likely cost a fair bit more than the camera itself, but even then you're probably only looking at a few thousand dollars per camera.

I don't thinkthey need to spend 12,000 dollars on something no necessary
Then on the 7th day, God went to CEDAR POINT
Yes the cleveland cam is located above the cp arcade, and the cp main offices next to snoopy boutique, it peeks out of the second story window. The camera points north.
The webcam is shown in this video at 5:54
