Web Cam Name Change

Anybody have any idea why the name of the web cam was changed from "point cam" to "park cam"?

Actually, it was the result of many hours of meetings and strategic coordinating between several park departments. It wasn't easy and took some convincing, but they finally managed to make the change.

I heard that it took precious time away from planning for next year's new attraction. Rumor is that now there won't be any new attractions until 2003.

Actually, I was kind of curious myself. I figure it may have to do with some kind of copyright/trademark infringement, but I could be wrong. The logo for PointCam was awesome, too.

Well, barring those very few individuals that when they hear "point" they automatically think "Cedar Point", I'm sure that "park cam" is more familiar to people that may be visiting the official site to get an idea if they want to go to the park or not, people who've never been. Just a general type term, really.

Lawsuits. Everyone was revolting the name "Point", since it's on the park, not the point. Horrible mess, many offended people by CP's false advertising. ;)
