Weather....

Concerning wicked weather in November: If you look at the past decade or so you will notice that "tornado season" is suddenly coming twice a year.

I am not a meteorologist but, the cold weather coming down from the north mixing with the warm weather is what is supporting these heavy storms that contain tornados. Blame global warming or whatever you like but it is becoming more frequent in the Fall/Winter.

Orlando was hit by two or three tornados several years ago at this time of year when a cold front (by Florida's standards) swept through. Anyone remember the video of the tornado that went through downtown Miami years back?

Mother Nature is mixing it up some.

For those wanting more information about tornadoes, be sure to check out the Tornado Project home page. Lots of good info there with stats, questions, myths, etc.

I live in Fostoria which is about 45 mins away from the point and around 3/4 of our town was without electricity from sunday till early this morning. A tornado touched down in a smaller part of town and moved its way toward Fremont destroying a few houses and uprooting alot of trees. We cannot drink our water due to the treatment plant being shutdown. Noone was killed and maybe 6 treated & released. The 3rd floor roof on the catholic school was torn off and 100 volunteers tried to get everything out asap..the school suffered severe water damage. A roof of a car wash was ripped off releasing everything inside flying around. During the whole thing we still had our phones so it wasn't too bad. Many of the local stores gave out free water which really helped considering we are under a water boil advisory. School should resume at the public schools tommrow. Never rely on the tornado sirens because they never went off. They are considering Fostoria and seneca county in a state of emergency.

yea the entire mess went in a nice straight path south of ft wayne...weird is all i got to say...im sure ft wayne will see its share of nasty weather sooner or later
You have to remember that Ft. Wayne did get hit by some tornadoes not too long ago, on Colesium. Other than this, it seems that Kendalville, and the counties of Blackford and Koskiosko get tagged an awful lot.

...Denial is an ugly thing.

We were very lucky that it happened on Sunday. If it would have been during the week, there would have been a high death toll with the amount of people working in those plants.

I went back to work today. We had yesterday off because of power lose. Plant still didn't have power today, but brought in semi trailer generators to get the plant running. There was a total of four with a fifth one arriving tonight to get hooked up.

I live in Ft. Wayne, however I am in Mishawaka/South Bend for school, and I do remember the tornadoes from 2 years ago. Actually if anyone is from the area, they may remember that the F2 hit one subdivision...That is where I live. I actually stood outside until i saw trees starting to go airborne south of my house. Our house was the last house on our street not to get damaged...just a plastering of mud on the front side of the house, and a theatre sign in our backyard. Definitley a day I'll never forget. My prayers are with those who went through the tornadoes this past weekend.

Indeed one of my clients had his house blown apart last May or so by the twister that hit Kohls.....
Yeah, that was the one I was talking about. Damons got hit pretty bad too.

I wonder what it'd be like to see Wicked Twister sway in those winds
It would be a lot like watching a tall tree sway, except this tree is yellow and looks like a K'nex set.
