Wearing glasses on the coasters

I wear prescription glasses and my question really is what coasters can I wear them on and which ones I really shouldn't? I seen a recent picture on here of the top thrill dragster and one of the middle riders was indeed wearing glasses so I'm curious about this
I wouldnt wear the glasses on at least Millennium Force or Top Thrill Dragster. The ride ops do let people wear glasses on usually all the rides. My friend wore his glasses on Millennium Force. Just make sure your glasses are secure if you decide to wear them on a ride the goes fast.

thank you.....and enjoy your record breaking ride on Millennium Force!

My suggestion is to go get yourself some sort of tight-fitting strap for your glasses. The only time in the past 8 years or so I was tentative about wearing glasses on a ride was the front seat Dragster, and that turned out to be a non-issue thanks to the amount of wind keeping them pressed against my face. Other than that, I never really had to worry about them thanks to the strap.

I only ever take my sunglasses off to ride when the ride ops force me to. I've never lost a pair of glasses, and that's without a strap. If they fit properly, there shouldn't be an issue. If you're worried, get a strap, and all will be fine.

Come on people, this poetry's not going to appreciate itself!

I have a strap. Works great. I take them off only for Wicked Twister.

The Speed Zone store (right across from the dragster) sells hands down the most effective glasses restraint I've used. It's $2. I've worn my glasses on Dragster with that strap comfortably. I almost lost my glasses with a "lesser" strap on Magnum the same day (which is why I replaced it.)

That said, unless you have someone else able to drive you home or a spare set in your car, it might be prudent to put 'em in a fanny pack while riding.

It's not war, famine, or pestilence; it's only downtime.

I have worn my glasses on MF with no problem however without a strap you can't wear them on PT,WT or TTD. I have purchased a strap for my glasses so thankfully I can wear them on these rides.

Some of the ride-ops like to double check that you have a strap (particularly on WT and TDD), so its worth getting one that's easily visible too...the bright neon coloured ones available at CP are fine.

I have never had the slightest problem with my prescription glasses on anything - it was pretty cool having to wipe a few dead bugs off them after a front-seat ride on TTD :)

For those 16 extreme seconds, it was worth the wait....

I always wear a strap on any coaster that loops or is over 100' tall, just to be safe. (And yes, I have lost my glasses once on a beach trip.) Usually I've seen the ride ops check for a strap on TTD, WT, and PT, but not on other rides. There are many stores and souvenir stands in the park that sell the straps, although mine is an old one from outside the park.

I wear my glasses on every coaster so I can enjoy the views, but the only ones that I use the annoying strap for is WT and TTD, simply because on these rides they make you take them off if you don't have a strap. I've never had a problem on any rides I didn't use the strap, and I'm pretty sure I'd be fine on WT and TTD, but the ride ops think differently.

My friend was wearing glasses with no straps on WT and TTD and the the ride ops didn't care.
I don't ride anything without my glasses.

Power Tower and Dragster require eyewear securement. Otherwise it is rider discretion. Wicked Twister required eyewear securement last season, but I noticed that this season it isn't on the list, though the sign is still up at the ride entrance, so I don't know what the official word is on that one. Millennium Force went 'rider discretion' after the first month of operation.

Long story, but there was this kid that I got to know in MF's line. Anyway, he had glasses, and about halfway through the ride one of his lenses popped out and was plastered to his eye. Thankfully he was quick enough to grab it, that was pretty weird.
I have contacts, so I don't need to worry about losing prescription glasses. I do have a nice pair of tight fitting sunglasses that never come off though. I wouldn't dare wear anything on Power Tower, seeing as how it's vertical.
