We have yet to see the launch pieces!

the track that is sitting in the parking lot that looks like this http://www.setecx.com/pics/cp91402const/PICT0001.html is by my guess the brakes. Because this is what it looks like on Xcelerator. http://www.twistedrails.com/kbf/jun23-25.shtml .Notice how the pieces are flat. Well the launch pieces are box style. http://www.westcoaster.net/photo.php?img=062302/062302-kbf016-lrg.jpg . I wonder when they will arrive unless they are sitting in the parking lot now.
Those pieces are probably much more time consuming to manufacturer because of how precise everything has to be for the launch sled not to strike anything. I have no clue if they are on Point or even in the U.S. yet.

I would be pretty sure they are within our borders.

correct me if i'm wrong (and i probably am), but isn't the track fabricated here anyway? or is it B&M that uses american companies to fabricate their track? or possibly neither.
B&M does, but Intamin ships their track and supports here. They are very secretive about the method in which they fabricate their track.

LAUNCH TRACK IS IN THE SOAK CITY LOT. I was there today, I didn't notice it at first but there are 3 or 4 pieces of launch track (red). I'm sure someone got some pictures. In addition, more brake track arrived and some friction wheels as well.

You don't need to yell, we can hear you just fine.

I didn't see any pictures on www.virtualmidway.com They don't have any parking lot pictures in this update. Maybe www.setecx.com will get some.

They have a lot of parts that still need to be delivered to Cedar Point, but the parking lots can't hold but so much untill the season ends.

Haha, sorry, I'm just "making an announcement". Yeah I know VM doesn't have any pics of it but I'm sure we will see some. I took some pics with a regular camera, and I don't have a scanner. :(

Yeah, I must admit that does looks a whole lot like this, without the lauch hardware installed, but it could also be part of a brake run, as seen in this photo which uses almost identical track (You can also see in that photo that they are still in the process of installing the equipment into the track)... But what leads me to think the track at CP is for launching is the small groove on the top, slightly off centered. That looks like an ideal spot for the hydrolic pulley cable.

*Edit - In this picture you can again see that the launch track also arrived at Knotts without the harware installed...

First off, I do admit that track at CP does look a lot like the launch track without the rollback fin devices istalled. Secondly, that smaller groove offcentered is for the proximity sensors. Intamin would NEVER offcenter the launch mechanism. That would throw the whole train off alignment and put to much stress on everything.

Hmmm... maybe I spoke too soon. It's tough to tell whether those pieces are for the launch or brakes.

I'm gonna go out on a limb and say those pieces are for somewhere along the brake run. If you look at the piece on the left it doesn't have any bolt holes at the bottom (like the piece on the right does). To me it seems like this piece will be the last of the box-style and will bolt to the flat pieces with fixed rails that have been in the parking lot for a few weeks now. See the photo below of Xcelerator for a better picture of what I am talking about:

And I'm gonna go out on a limb and say wow James, good catch there... Seriously, that's the best observation I've heard yet... And now that you mention it, check out a photo of the same track from an angle... You can clearly see the box track ends in a 45 degree angle just like that in the photo you referred to.

I think that peice will be for the end of the launch farthest away from the tophat. It's obviously to connect to the flat track.

That is not launch track. The launch track has a slot for the launch sled in the middle of the track. However, it is the kind of track that houses the retracting brake fins, so obviously, it wil be used for a block segment.
