But is it just me or are the crowds not into it like they were back in the 70's and 80's? I've been waiting in queues at night for Millennial Force, Gatekeeper, and Maverick and the crowd seems blase'. What happened to the party?
Everyone is on their cell phones.
Everybody is in their own little world with their cell phones. Nobody wants to interact with fellow guests they don't know. Maybe its the generation gap.
Smart phones are perhaps one of the worst things to happen to humanity, from a social and relationship standpoint. Yet in the same breath, they are an incredible resource and have so many positive benefits.
Worth the tradeoff? I can't really say.
In regards to roller coasters...there is no tradeoff for safety.
The worst thing I've seen is people justifying go pros on roller coasters because them mount...This whole subject just irks me

So Candy Crush and Twitter have replaced the ride experience. Guys don't flirt with girls anymore? I'm a little old anyway for all the whooping but it would still be fun to watch and get the kids excited, too.
That's too bad, it was such a blast. I hadn't noticed that closely but I'm really not surprised either. Many times eating out we've seen this:

So much for girl's night out.

Yes, because a mounting system that GoPro probably spent millions of dollars to prevent from failing and has yet to land them in a lawsuit poses an issue...
I'm referring to guests using them...

It was pretty busy Sunday and I was at least hoping for a good old fashioned Gemini ride but blue train wasn't running at all. I hope it was just down as opposed to deliberately closed because it was Sunday. Unfortunately, I didn't stick around to find out.
Had a great ride on Magnum, though, best one I've had in a while, it's felt so violent lately.

The blue train being down led to a long line that we decided not to stand in. I guess we're spoiled but 45 minutes is a bit long for Gemini. Back in the 80s I would have expected it but not now.
I know right! We started to wait in the queue then I realized no way am I waiting for this so we backtracked and left. Very spoiled with <15 minute waits all season long.
I couldn't believe we actually entered the Corkscrew line at 30 minute wait. But I looked at the line and thought it can't be more than 15 and I was right. It seemed many of the lines had times posted that were way over. TTD said one hour and it was about 20-30 min. Magnum had 45 minutes posted and it was about 15. These were all with employees at the entrances because I know the dial can be manipulated by guests. Gemini's queue did look to be maybe 30 minutes because of the one train operation and we just couldn't do it.

My son wanted to go on Dragster but I didn't let him becuase it said 1 hour and it was almost closing and I was sick. I hate that you can't see the line for yourself for that one without entering the line.
I had peeked over when I rode Corkscrew, yes it said one hour but it was only 25-30 minutes both times! The entrance employees never seem to know why a ride is down or for how long, hence why I didn't ask about blue train, but now it seems they aren't gauging the wait times either. Hope you're feeling better!
