Water Main

Well, I'm out on the boat, in the area between the Causeway and Chausee hanging out a bit and water is just pouring out from under the Causeway bridge. It sure looks like the water main broke again. Hope the new water tower is filled and working.

That would not be good if that were true. I haven't heard of this anywhere else on the Internet so far.

Believe me it is true, I took some pictures I might post later. You would not see it unless you pass by the bridge on a boat

We are staying in Lighthoise Point and none of the toilets are flushing. They did say when we went to the office that they are having water issues but not much else was said.

Beer and wine only at Surf Lounge and closing now. They are giving hotel guests cases of bottled water. No restrooms working at Breakers. Lots of food stands closed in the park along with restrooms.

From the picture you posted it certainly does not look like an easy spot to get at, hopefully the break isn't in as bad of a spot as I think...

I wonder if this will cause a delay for Monday's announcement.

Depending on how major of a problem this is, the park could very well be closed tomorrow. I think the 2014 break shut the park down for 3 days.

The last water main break back in 2014 closed the park for 2 days. Saturday through Sunday. Talk about bad timing, why can't this happen in February? :)

Because the demand on the system isnt what it is in February as it is this time of year. I think Sandusky needs to do a replacement of the main that feeds the park. The new water tower isnt ready. You could see into the base of it and still lots of work going on.

So when do we talk about replacing the wooden pipes with concrete or metal pipes?

Maybe they could call RMC to refurb those wooden pipes

I suspect Cedar Fair is a little bit less than happy with Sandusky about this. The city doesn't mind soaking the park for every cent of taxes it can squeeze, but providing a reliable water system to the Point seems to be too much to ask.

Man, they just can't catch a break.........
