Water Coaster at CP

(In response to a post that is no longer there anymore)

I've worked the ride. Trust me, every once in a while Bob Wozniak would come to our ride and add some chlorine to pump 5. It would generally be on the really crowded Saturdays in the middle of the summer. It didn't do much more than lighten the tint of the water and produce a faint chlorine smell.

I'm not sure about how much it could possibly affect the bay since that's a tiny, tiny amount of chlorine that would be dissipated into trace amounts. The ride itself continuously moves 1,000,000 gallons of water through the flume... and that's just a drop in the bucket compared to the whole bay/lake. I doubt that a little bottle of chlorine would affect the ecosystem that much.

What kind of things did you find when it was emptied CP_bound?

I have never really wanted a water coaster but after seeing those pictures of Poisidon I am impressed.

Lets see here...

Seaweed--lots and lots of seaweed, dead snakes, dead fish, parts of dead fish, almost dead fish, and Bigbird the Grouch. Not Bigbird, not Oscar the Grouch, but Bigbird the very same green color as Oscar the Grouch from being sucked down onto the pit grate the day before. It was pretty nasty. There were others that I forget now, but the mornings when we had to clean the pit was always a...uh...fun experience.

When I hear water coaster I think of Roller Soaker at Hersheypark. I've never been there, but it looks like a lot of fun. It creates a lot of interaction from people on the ground and on the ride. It'd work for CP.

Meh, why not ride Raptor and get some of the ride ops to stand on the ground and spray the trains as they go by with a hose. Also, after a good rain the tops of the trains fill up with water and after you leave the station and ascend up the lift the train tilts and water pours out of the tops onto the riders. Put the hose spraying and the water pouring together and BAM! you have Roller Soaker.
