Walt, or anyone who has been in the park this OFF-season?

Sorry if this is posted already. Anyone who has been in the park this off-season, What is going on over at the WWL site? I am just curious as to what they may be doing with it for now. Thanks in advance.

They tore it down.

Probably just clearing the land for whatever is coming in 2007. There is another topic already on this called White Water Landing. I think it's still on page 1.

I saw pictures a week or so ago that somebody took from Perimeter Road, just taking some offseason photos and they got a few (albeit blurry) pictures of the WWL site, and it looked like bulldozers were busy clearing away whatever debris was left from the ride, as well as some trees. The station building was still standing, and that's about all I could make out of any significance.

You can drive on the Perimeter Road at any time...?

Well, I don't know if CP likes it...but if they don't post guards or signs that say not to, I would think it would be legal. I believe it is a "public" road.

Three things you need to fix anything in the universe: duct tape, WD-40, and a hammer. Duct tape if it moves and it shouldn't, WD-40 if it doesn't move and should, and the hammer as the last resort.

It is not. Unless you have official business, the best you can do is drive to Bay Harbor for dinner. The guard will stop you at the toll booth and ask you where you're going.

Pictures from the WWL area, including along the road, are not allowed. To be honest, there really isn't anything to see, yet. I'm sure they're working toward something, though. Unless someone breaks the rules, which sounds like has already happened, you won't see anything until May.

What about that TGIF deal for the season passes? Is that the Castaway TGIF, or the Breakers TGIF? I still can't find which one it is on that page or on the Funtimes email that mentioned the deal.

It's the Castaway Bay location. The Breakers location is not open during the off-season.

If the pictures in reference are the ones that I am thinking of, they came from a CP authorized trip into the park by another site's webmaster along with Brandi Barhite from the Sandusky Register to view Skyhawk's construction progress a few weeks ago. I know they got to drive through the park with a PR person and get some photos along the way, including some on Perimeter Road.

To answer the other question though, Perimeter Road is not a public road and pictures taken along the road during the winter without permission of the PR department would not be considered "legal" pictures on coaster sites. The best you could do is arial photography or perhaps a picture from the lake.

He may not be aware of the rule, but it was a PR rep who told me that was the deal. Maybe they didn't tell him because they didn't know he was going to take those pictures on the way out.

It's not really any concern of mine as long as they're not linked to from here.
