I really want to walk around after closing in the silent dark, unfortunately the park closes at 8pm those nights that I am there.
We'll miss you MrScott and Pete

During opening year on millenium force one night I was on the last ride at about 3am and there was only 2 other people on board and the were in the back and half way up the lift they shut MF's lights off and the ride was pitch black and a cedar point police man escorded us out of the park and to our cars (The last ones in the parking lot!)
that's really cool. the only time ive been out so late was last year, when i had the second to last ride on MF. i didnt start riding till 1130, and i finally got out of the area at 1145 cause i was watching the last train. i then went to raptor, and i got told be a security guy to go to my car. so i started walking towards magnum, and then 2 security men told me and my dad to turn around NOW! we explained to them we parked behind magnum, and he let us pass. it is cool seeing TTD and magnum pitch black and dead.
You guys should stay on Point for a day or 2. You'll see the park at night. :)

When I stayed at Lighthouse Point a few weeks ago, my 2 cousins and I were the Second to last train of the night on MF. The walk back to our cabin was awesome, as we were the only people on the Top Thrill Dragster Midway. All of the lights were on and nobody was to be seen. Needless to say, it was one of my most memorable moments at Cedar Point.
Coaster Count: 147
Yesterday my friend and I were on probably the 3rd to last train of the night on MF, and getting out of the park that late was new to me. Really cool I thought. I briefly talked to a few girls who were in line in front of us on MF, and as we were walking out they turned the corner near Coasters and headed under corkscrew, while everyone else were walking out. Obviously they were staying on site. Anyways, the point is, it was like pitch dark back there under corkscrew, and ive got a very vivid picture in my mind of the 4 of them dissapearing into the darkness under corckscrew while my friend and I continued on towards the main entrance...
I love being in parks after closing. While it isn't at CP, back in 2002 in the heart of summer I got the last ride of the night on Deja Vu, which was a 1.5 hour line. Instead of walking to the park exit, I walked completey around the park, way towards the back and around SW territory past Raging Bull. It was really cool seeing the park empty and in a sense "asleep", and no one said anything to me.
Once my grandpa and I got in line for dragster at 10pm, right after us they let a few more people in and shut the line off. We waited in line for and hour, the ride shut down for 2 hours, in wich the line still moved from all the people leaving. It opened up, we waited another hour and got on at 2 in the morning. When we left all the lights were still on and everything. It would be cool walkin through CP in the dark with all the rides shut down.
I believe that the lights on all the coasters are left on all night long for the cleanup crews. How much do you think Cedar Point's monthly electricity bill is? *** Edited 7/10/2005 4:24:14 AM UTC by Jethro***

To take a wild guess, the electricity alone is probably 1.2 million a month, with all the power they use all together.
