I know we talked about this ages ago, but I have to think now that there will be a walkway on the MF lift. You can very plainly see supports sticking out of the side of the lift track.
Also, and I forgot to mention and photograph this when Dan and I were there, but I saw some long curved stair sections with hand rails. I also saw F-shaped supports that look like they bolt under track to support a walk (like those found on Superman:ROS).

Why would you not have a walk way up the first lift? Wouldn't it be kinda a safe-gard if the cable operster was to screw up at the top? It's kind of logical that there would be steps of some sort to a point on the lift hill.
There was some speculation (not by me) a bit ago that some other sort of device would facilitate a "walk down." The reason I think had something to do with wind.

Oh okay. I am new and haven't been here for that long. I guess the wind could pose a problem. But it wouldn't be too bad if they anchored it in good and put it near one of the suports so it had something backing it up when the wind blows.
Originally my sources said that their was NO walkway up the lift. When I talked to a person that would know they said that the plans called for a car that rode up the side of the lift (similar to Raptors) Many Cedar Point silver tags in park op. were worried that there was no stairs on the side of the lift. For all I know they may have complained enough to get a stairway installed. But what normal guest is going to want to walk down a 45 degree angle 310 foot flight of stairs. Nor did they want the employees to have to run* up the lift. That would take a lot out of someone. Like I said the last I knew they were going to have a car that rode up the side of the lift. But something like that can change.
*Employees are asked to try and get up the lift as quickly but safely as possible.

Ready, Clear! Enjoy your ride on Millennium Force.
I for one would not want to walk up that thing... or down it for that matter

Well, even if they did just use a car on the lift for the walkdowns, there would need to be tracks on the side for the car to stay on, and that might be what we see on the webcam.

The Samurai has spoken.
You see a rescue/inspection track on the lift?
Samurai makes a good point. On Raptor, the rescue platform travels under the train because the train has no floor. The platform allows riders to cross over to the steps and then walk down. MF's rescue vehicle would have to travel up the side of the lift. I bet the supports are for the rescue vehicle track. The vehicle probably takes four riders at a time back down the side of the lift.
I am looking at the pictures my new best friend STEYON sent to me and I see no stairs, but then, they could be not up there yet.

Thank you for riding the Raptor and enjoy your day here at Cedar Point, America's Rockin' Rollercoast!
Thanks Steyon!
