Walk from Breakers to Marina

When I go to CP later this month, I was thinking about waking up a little earlier than everyone else and walking from Hotel Breakers around Mean Streak and all the way down to the Marina Entrance. My question is, how long should this walk take? I would take the shuttle, but I really want to get some pictures and stuff of the coasters.

I'm not too sure if you can walk around there. I would take the shuttle. You can still get good pictures.

Also, if you want some good pictures of Mean Streak, find time to walk around Lighthouse Point. There is a lot of good photo spots there.

Sorry, MH, but walking Perimeter Road is forbidden. That area is well patrolled, too. To much of a safety hazard. Make shuttle plans.

Thanks for the info, that's too bad.

Now that I will be taking the shuttle, can anyone tell me how long it would take to get from Breakers to the Marina gate with the shuttle? Also, what times/how often does the shuttle come by? I am trying to figure out when to take it so that I can get to the Marina entrance before the gates open.

...Of course that presupposes that you know when the gates are going to open that day... (see accompanying thread about opening the gates).

Actually, you can hike through Lighthouse Point with no problem, which means you can get all the way around to a point across from the Mean Streak lift hill without running afoul of the NO PEDESTRIAN zone. That's the spot where I (along with a bunch of other people) got caught and thrown INTO the park about ten years ago.

It seems to me that the end of the marina comes pretty darned close to the edge of Lighthouse Point. I haven't looked too closely, but it seems you might now be able to walk around if you go through the marina.

isn't the whole area beside the lift hill of mf just a rocky area between the bay and the road in that area?
i dont think i'd want to walk through there the way some people drive :)
i took a shuttle to the marina from breakers after parking in soak city lot my first trip, and walked to season pass center, had no real wait for one after i just missed one

Majin,

Lenght of the ride depends on how many stops the shuttle makes on the way to the Marina. It could potentially stop at Challenge Park/Soak City, Sandcastle and Camper Village before the final stop at the Marina Gate.

Without stops it would take less than 10 minutes. With stops it could take as long as 20 minutes or so.

Walking on Perimeter road is a bad idea. There is very little room between the park fence and the bay. With drivers paying more attention to Millennium Force than the road, I wouldn't risk it. Take the shuttle.

For a price, the driver might be willing to forego the stops (wink, wink) though it is certainly not park policy to tip/bribe. Those drivers can be greedy though. :-)
