Wait times (Truth or Fiction)

You work, you get paid. It's probably a law.

Uh, I'm pretty sure it IS a law. If you work past your scheduled shift, you get paid for it. I'm pretty sure I did ;)
Oh,and like big companies have never tried to rip people/employees( Enron ring a bell) off.I am pretty sure she just didnt make this up.Think about it guys, who is going to rock the boat and lose their bonus at the end of the season. This could just be the manager at the particular establishment, trying to pad his/her incentive check. I was amazed at how cheap the Point can be about certain things,,but hey, they do run a profitable-succesful business.Like I said,if they feel they can get away with it,they will probably try.

No, it's made up. If you work hourly and you don't get paid, you're a moron. One call to the state and they'll jump on any company that does otherwise, and once fined, you can sue the crap out of the company and win. No company with a bit of common sense will do that.

During the winter I work at Boston Mills/Brandywine and when the place closes we have to stay about 2 hours later and we get paid. It is a law, whoever said it wasn't needs to pay atttention.

I was wondering when Jeff was going to chime in. Ahhhh, the voice of reason. Anyway, I have never had any jobs that did not pay after a certain hour, no matter how much was left to do. It is the law. If someone stayed and worked for free, then it had to have been of their own free will. No one in their right mind would do this.
I actually saw the exact opposite during the day. The sign said 1 hour and the line was filled up except the last block. I asked the guy at the entrance, "Thats REALLY one hour?" He insisted that it was but I walked back 5 min later and it was up to 1.5 hours. I wonder if someone said something.

As for the ethical dilemma, I think that is completely rediculous. You think staying till midnight or 12:30 is bad? Try getting off at 1am and being back at 6am the next day for an OC. It really isn't a physically demanding job. Just think, I can always be worse. Work in Resort Foods for a week.

I was there two weeks ago and at 6:00 the wait for TTD said 1/2 hour. When the park was near closing they jacked up the wait time to 1 1/4 hours. If the ops are doin this because they want to go home, then they're not doin their job.

No, they are just tired of doing their job.

Well, if jacking up the signs near closing turns away a few people who don't know better, gives ME a shorter wait to ride whatever, and lets the employees go home sooner, then jack them up. It's not that big a deal if you realize that at 10pm the signs are BS.

wow you guys are all little detectives against the ride ops figuring out all these clues to see how long the line really is, just get in line, & if you see alot of people in front of you, & you dont want to wait, get out of line, that simple.........

I was led to believe they do that because of all the breakdowns. I know they haven't been as large of an issue lately but that theory makes sense. Under promise and over deliver, businesses do that all the time.

Heck, just last Sunday (9/12) they were quoting an hour wait and the line was only halfway down the ramp to the station. An hour? More like 10 minutes! We rode it 3 times that night within an hour.
